Between Alabama, Notre Dame, BYU and Miami, BYU is: 1st in strength of record 2nd in strength of schedule 1st in Wins vs Top 25 And leads Notre Dame and Miami in all 3 of those categories. (With their 2 losses being to the #4 team in the country not to FSU or NC State)

Today’s update EIGHTY SEVEN independent computer systems rate BYU as the SEVENTH best team in the nation on average, but one CFP committee, and their “human element,” have BYU at 11, coincidentally, just outside of the CFP field Massey Composite ranking… link in replies

In a 12-game power-conference slate, BYU lost one game—to the No. 4 CFP team, on its home field. At one point in that game, BYU trailed 26-0. Not great, Bob. I get it. But to the committee, nothing else BYU did this season seems to matter. The disregard for data is despicable.

65 independent computer systems collectively say that BYU is the SEVENTH best team in the nation… Meanwhile some argue that the Big12 is a 1-bid league & tout 7 diff SEC teams being CFP worthy If the CFP committee keeps BYU underrated at #11 the system is broken/rigged

BYU should be in the College Football Playoff. -11-1 in a Power 4 Conference Champ Game -#6 Strength of Record -T-Most wins over teams with a winning record -Better SOS than Ole Miss, Notre Dame, Miami Wins and loses matter. Who you beat matters. Stop persecuting Christians.

BYU played in the first live college football game on ESPN in 1984, and ESPN has enjoyed having BYU in its late-night windows for decades, and ESPN gave BYU a TV deal during independence…but this graphic from ESPN is indefensible at best and antagonistic at worst.

If you're going to penalize a 1-loss Power Conference team for a weak strength of schedule... BYU's SOS is better than Ole Miss and Notre Dame. If you're going to penalize a team for not having the strongest power ratings (which incorporate prior year's history and recruiting rankings)... BYU's FPI is higher than Oklahoma's. If you're going to penalize a team for a non-competitive / bad loss... Alabama lost by 14 to a team with a losing record and Miami lost to two unranked teams. If you're going to use strength-of-record like you indicated you would, BYU's SOR is the second highest of teams 6-12. BYU also (1) made its conference championship game and (2) if you sum up the wins of the teams it has beaten, it is THIRD in the country. It is hard to win games and BYU has beaten a lot of teams with a lot of wins. This. Makes. No. Sense. The @CFBPlayoff should be ashamed of itself. It has literally contorted itself into a pretzel to avoid putting BYU where it should be ranked (somewhere between 6th - 9th). RT to get the info out there. They need to feel pressure.

Looking back at the LAST 30 YEARS, no 1-loss P4/P5 team has ever been ranked as low as BYU at #11 in the AP poll at the end of the regular season All other year's lowest-ranked 1-loss teams ended with an AP ranking between #3-10, & there's a strong correlation between better AP ranking and better SOS... except for BYU, who showed better than average figures for all schedule strength data points, yet somehow received the lowest ranking on record I utilized the weekly poll data from the College Poll Archive site and used the Colley Matrix for SOS data since it's the only one I could find with historical weekly data I stopped the search at 1996 due to the data getting irregular with many "ties" in the records prior to that year and the confusion between the pre-Big12 conferences Links in replies

@CFBPlayoff BYU has wins over #15 Utah and #19 Arizona. BYU is 11-1. BYU’s only loss is to the #4 team. Why is BYU ranked so low? They should be ranked 8th at minimum.

It’s entirely possible this is the greatest performance of a Christian hymn ever recorded. Lyrics: Jesus climbed the hill to the garden still. His steps were heavy and slow. Love and a prayer took Him there To the place only He could go. Gethsemane. Jesus loves me, So He went willingly to Gethsemane. He felt all that was sad, wicked, or bad, All the pain we would ever know. While His friends were asleep, He fought to keep His promise made long ago. Gethsemane. Jesus loves me, So He went willingly to Gethsemane. The hardest thing that ever was done, The greatest pain that ever was known, The biggest battle that ever was won— This was done by Jesus! The fight was won by Jesus! Gethsemane. Jesus loves me, So He gave His gift to me in Gethsemane. Gethsemane. Jesus loves me, So He gives His gift to me from Gethsemane.

Bishop Jeffrey Schaub from the Grand Blanc Ward shares an update on the ward and its members following the Sunday, September 28 attack on their local meetinghouse. “We will be happy and find joy again. I know there are a lot of people suffering right now. But we share in that testimony and that love of Jesus Christ that through Him, we’ll find that peace and joy that is missing today, and tomorrow, and the next few days—but it will come." spr.ly/6004Agd3A

@jennystojkovic Good thread especially the deep look at root causes of water issues. Here’s food for thought: it’s not WHAT we water, it’s HOW we water. 80% of CO River water used in CA is Ag, ~40% of that is flood irrigation, and 65% of flood Irrigation is WASTED! Similar numbers in UT

Lol. Typical CA: rather than irrigate farms efficiently to reduce CO river usage, they propose cutting off Vegas (and Phoenix). Las Vegas, THE leader in urban water conservation not to mention the area most cited as a water conservation role model #water cnn.com/2023/01/31/us/…
