Rocks that originated in Earth’s mantle could reveal secrets of the planet’s history 🪨🌍
The mantle forms a 2,900km layer beneath the Earth’s crust which is not normally accessible from the surface.

@vaillantuk For what is advertised as the best and certainly the most expensive heating systems on the market, not being able to do a simple thing as using a thermostat to control the heating is unacceptable. We have completely lost faith in the system.

@vaillantuk Our Vaillant central heating system is not working. A Vaillant engineer has visited our premises and looked at our system and has been unable to resolve the problem.
Currently the only way we can control the boiler is by manually using the control panel on the the boiler.

In April I'll be heading on an IODP scientific drilling expedition to the Mid-Atlantic Ridge (Exp 399).
The Wall Street Journal decided to write about it! (If you can get past the pay wall, then please let me know what it says!)
