A year ago today was the best and proudest day of my life. 🎉🎉🎉 There are a few things I wish I could take back since then.

Tajikistan is sending munitions and weapons to Iran using a fake humanitarian convoy. This is a standard russian tactic. The Putin regime rearmed its invasion forces in Ukraine in 2014-15 using fake humanitarian aid. l: Tajikistan now r: occupied Luhansk, 2015 (note ammo boxes)

Remember three things: 1. When Trump became president, he instantly stopped all US aid to Ukraine. 2. He has repeatedly lied that the US gave Ukraine 350 bn (under Biden), while the true number is $130 bn. 3. Trump always supports Putin, even when he targets US soldiers.
Beefeater@Beefeater_Fella

Trump has never helped Ukraine. Don’t confuse the US selling old weapons to Europe for them to gift to Ukraine as “help”. It’s not. It’s profiting from war.

Trump has now lifted sanctions on: * Russia * Iran * Belarus Three of the most villainous autocracies. But we hate all our former allies 🤷🏻‍♀️

Hegseth just said on live television that no American weapons should have been sent to Ukraine yet when he was working for Fox News in 2022 he was saying to send everything to Ukraine to destroy the Russian Army. It’s absolutely clear now that the entire admin are compromised.

Hegseth: "We're still dealing with the environment Joe Biden created—depleting our stockpiles and sending them to Ukraine instead of our own military. Every time we face a challenge, it traces back to 'Well, sent it to Ukraine.'" It looks like they’re just going to blame Ukraine whenever anything goes wrong now, doesn’t it? It’s depressing to watch because while this administration will eventually leave office, a segment of Americans will keep hating Ukraine without even remembering why.

Tajikistan’s 110-truck “humanitarian” convoy to Iran is raising alarms. Russia used similar convoys to mask weapon shipments in 2014.

In 2014, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) made sure not to inspect the Russian trucks filled with munitions but still issued public statements that the trucks were "inspected" by Russians. Red Cross also refused to distribute the weapons.
Dr. Fred Hoffman, Lieutenant Colonel (ret.)@InfoAgeStrategy

The Russians used white cargo trucks labeled as "humanitarian assistance" to ship arms and ammunitions into occupied Donbas in 2014. Oldest trick in the book!

NEW: Reform UK risks breaching data protection laws with its competition to win free energy bills for a year, lawyers and data experts have warned. Nigel Farage announced the lottery as a way to advertise his latest policy to cut energy bills. But entrants have to sign up via a website, disclosing not only their name, email and telephone number, but also how they voted at last election and how they intend to vote at next one. @kiranstacey reports theguardian.com/politics/2026/…

You want the NATO allies to join you in a war you started without ever consulting these allies about the war or explaining your war aims. We’re meant just to meekly fall in line. You recently supported a US invasion of a NATO ally (Denmark/Greenland) but now you want these same allies to join your war. Your president disparaged and misrepresented the role of NATO allies in Afghanistan. But now you want them to join with you again in a war of your making. You went to war with Iran without a thought of how to keep the Strait of Hormuz open and without involving your allies in the matter. But now you want the NATO allies to bail you out, even though there’s still no plan for Hormuz. You want the NATO allies to join you in a war in which you still cannot articulate the endgame. Or what victory would look like. You went to war thinking the Iranian regime would quickly topple, that Tehran would not attack the Gulf States or close Hormuz. Why would we align with such Epic Stupidity? You and other know-nothing blowhards started this war all on your own. You can finish it on your own. If you’re able to …
Lindsey Graham@LindseyGrahamSC

Just spoke to @POTUS about our European allies’ unwillingness to provide assets to keep the Strait of Hormuz functioning, which benefits Europe far more than America. I have never heard him so angry in my life. I share that anger given what’s at stake. The arrogance of our allies to suggest that Iran with a nuclear weapon is of little concern and that military action to stop the ayatollah from acquiring a nuclear bomb is our problem not theirs is beyond offensive. The European approach to containing the ayatollah’s nuclear ambitions have proven to be a miserable failure. The repercussions of providing little assistance to keep the Strait of Hormuz functioning are going to be wide and deep for Europe and America. I consider myself very forward-leaning on supporting alliances, however at a time of real testing like this, it makes me second guess the value of these alliances. I am certain I am not the only senator who feels this way.

🇺🇦 Zelensky: The Iranian regime delivered the first batch of “Shaheds” to Russia – a thousand drones. We contacted the Iranians at the intelligence level. We asked them not to supply weapons to Russia. We told them that if the transferred “Shaheds” killed our civilians, the Iranian regime would become an ally of Russia. They replied: “No, no, we are not allies in this. We sold the Russians only one batch of “Shaheeds”. That will be 1,200 or 1,300 drones, and that will be it. There will be no more deliveries.” But they lied. They not only gave them thousands of these drones – they gave them licenses to produce “Shaheds.” They helped Russia build two factories to produce these drones and initially managed their use and trained the Russians.

💔💔Horrific news from Sumy region. A russian drone flew straight into the cabin of a truck while grain was being loaded. The 40-year-old driver was killed instantly. Just a man doing his job. Just another civilian life taken by russia’s war.

Once again, Trump is claiming many things over the past hours about the situation at the Strait of Hormuz that numerous countries are "on the way" to help secure it, that very few shots will be fired and so on. But until we see official statements from the countries actually sending forces or warships, we should treat these claims carefully. Many nations including Germany, Spain, Italy, Grecee, Australia and others have refused or hesitated to commit military support to reopen or secure the Strait. So rightly, you can say that “we take it as just words for now, like those past declarations that "peace in Ukraine will come in 24 hours" they are not confirmations of action, only declarations. And indeed if Trump is suggesting very few shots will be fired and that Iran isn’t that threatening, then the question logically follows: why ask for help in the first place? Why call on other countries to send ships or forces if the situation is supposedly minor?
