@montie @EFTA4UK @GeorgeTrefgarne No, Norway should be the destination, not a stop off point. Giving the impression it is a stop gap will not fly and the EFTA countries won't want the disruption just to help us out a bit. We can make EFTA/EEA work for all of us.

@Wills_42 @TalkThatTalk_K I'm talking about MPs in general, I facepalm every time I see expenses bought up in this manner. Can't stand Jenrick, but the figures shown here are not particularly crazy.

@AndyTyler23 @TalkThatTalk_K Quarter of a million in rent alone. Not bad for someone who hates benefit claimants. Jenrick has taken money. Do you honestly believe when helping a donor £45m in tax he received no personal gains? No, you're too smart for that. Take your point, but the man is far from clean

Robert Jenrick takes issue and blames migrants for your troubles. But did you know in the last 3 years alone Robert Jenrick’s expenses paid for by the tax payers amount to well over £500,000. The claims are obscene. Check the link for yourselves. Reform aren’t the party of workers. They’re the party of grifters. The biggest ones going, I might add. theipsa.org.uk/mp-staffing-bu…

If Burnham wins, a million low skilled migrants will be allowed to stay and get British citizenship in the next few years. And he won’t stop the boats. Instead he will put them in bedsits on your street. To pay for it all? He’ll have to hike your taxes.

@AndyTyler23 @macstreams @StefansStarWars @FT But there’s nothing illegal nor can his statements be falsified. He wasn’t an MP, he got a gift, did the relevant legal declarations and became an MP. The house is what it is. If he said it, and it’s legally sound, then that is it. Great use of loopholes. Issue?

FT Exclusive: Nigel Farage’s claim that he paid for a £1.4mn house with his fee from a reality TV show has been challenged by corporate accounts that appear to show that the income remained on his company’s balance sheet after the property purchase. ft.trib.al/YIuowMb

@CryptoTeaze @macstreams @StefansStarWars @FT No one is suggesting illegality. They are suggesting he is lying about where the money came from to fund the house purchase. Just like he lied about the £5m being for security, then it became a gift. Oh, and he forgot to register it..

@AndyTyler23 @macstreams @StefansStarWars @FT The variables are the point, we don’t know. But my bet would be, Farage, his lawyers and accounts would do everything LEGALLY for a public company accounts filing. HMRC under Labour would destroy him otherwise. Since that hasn’t happened, it’s all legal.

@allibee87 @TalkThatTalk_K Click the link, misc costs seem to be redundancy of a staff member and payroll. Both of which are also office related. Accomodation is a different issue, but of much smaller scale than the £500k mentioned. So should focus on that, not genuine costs.

@AndyTyler23 @TalkThatTalk_K Last year his accomodation and miscellaneous costs were more than his office costs. Not sure why we have to pay for his rent, gas and electricity when he's getting £100k a year and his constituency is a commutable distance to London

@CryptoTeaze @macstreams @StefansStarWars @FT Directors loans should be shown on a balance sheet as a liability, no? So your working theory is in one year he took out £1.42m, then added in £1.967m + £1.42m (£3.387m), to end up on £1.967m cash. And this has nothing to do with the £5m he received (no tax benefit on a gift).

@macstreams @StefansStarWars @AndyTyler23 @FT So he used the money I’m a celeb paid in & then he pays in additional money from his own surplus as a director loan into the company? His accounts are not his bank statements, however the funds are replenished doesnt matter. What are you even saying? Man has money in account?

@sueatcraven @YouGov It is more to get an idea of if people are pro-triple lock because they only see the positives (i.e. much higher pension for them, yes please) or if they want it to rise even if they aren't likely to benefit personally.

@AndyTyler23 @YouGov Forget about cost anything is affordable if Governments want, the issue is the new state pension is more generous than working age benefits why should it continue 2increase in real terms. No Government will abolish/means test state pensions without being destroyed in the process.

There is strong public support for keeping the pensions triple lock - but is there any willingness to adjust it? A YouGov experiment finds the public split on a 'double lock', against a 'single lock', and the most supported proposal is to make it more generous Link in replies

@YouGov "If keeping the triple lock meant that anyone today under age 60 wouldn't get a state pension, or it would be means tested, would you support or opposed retaining the Triple lock?" Would be interesting to see the answer to that one...

@reformparty_uk Didn't Reform "force" local elections to take place in areas where the council is changing, at great cost and where a re-election will be required in 12 months or so, and are now moaning about pointless election costs, or am I imagining things?

@macstreams @CryptoTeaze @FT Indeed... So money stayed on the BS, no property added on to the BS and property records say the property was not bought by the company, so wouldn't be on the BS. Yet still people will defend him and his lies. It is a cult.

@politixintheuk @Nigel_Farage @ZiaYusufUK @TikTokComms You idiot. A private gift given to him as a private citizen before elected office is none of anyone’s business. He’s declared everything he’s had to since he’s been elected. This is only a story because you don’t like Farage receiving cash from friends and associates. It’s legal.

@CryptoTeaze @FT The accounts are publicly available. There was £1.22m investment property on the account before the property was bought, increasing by £16k May 24. This increased by a further £78k from 2024 - 25 (Incase you thought timings were an issue...). So where is the £1.42m property?

@FT FT posting and idiots in the comments believing. No knowledge. If a limited company buys a property, the property normally appears on the company’s balance sheet as a fixed asset .The asset usually stays there until it is:sold, revalued, otherwise disposed of. Deferred problem

@MonnyDachismo @Alonso_GD All party leaders should face scrutiny. If he was paying council tax via a marina, then I'm sure he will come out and say as such shortly... The story broke a fair few hours ago and so far nothing. So perhaps those accounts aren't correct for this specific situation.
