One takeaway from the F1 this weekend there seemed to be a lack of team radio, hardly heard any, was this deliberate? #F1 #australiangp

Absolute carnage between Cruzeiro & Atletico MG last night in Brazil. 23 players got sent off with the game stopped for 10 minutes after this incident in the last few seconds of stoppage time.

@MiguelDelaney Did they do something similar away against Bolton when United were chasing them in 02/03?

How can a prospective champion be five points clear, and then 2-0 up, against the Premier League’s bottom side, and then do that? That is remarkable. It’s February! Genuinely hard to remember too many comparable examples like that in title race history.

Jenson Button has announced his retirement from motorsport after the 8 Hours of Bahrain, so I would like to remind you that he remains the winner of the longest F1 race in history

Happy birthday, Sir Bobby Charlton. Arguably Manchester United’s most important modern player and perhaps England’s greatest, Charlton would have been 88 today. He died two years ago this month, the news breaking on a Saturday afternoon. It seemed appropriate, as does Charlton’s birth date falling on an international weekend. As does coming across a rare old book of his: Bobby Charlton’s Book of Soccer. It was published in October 1960, two years after the Munich Air Disaster, to coincide with Charlton’s 23rd birthday. On page 79 he names his ‘World XI’ and, given the book’s date, anyone in 2025 guessing even half the selections correctly will be doing well. @mwalker2771 runs the rule over Charlton's selection. nytimes.com/athletic/66964…

🚨 | Manchester United are in talks to appoint former Manchester City staff member Alan Wright. He worked closely with Jason Wilcox at City and would join the academy to coach in the Professional Development Phase group. [@StevenRailston]

Just before the season began, it was felt Donnarumma to United could be done... but United didn't want to pay more than £200k in wages There was surprise when City did it, for various reasons, and murmurs of internal debate over transfers independent.co.uk/sport/football…

Important just in case anyone’s wondering, don’t have to announce the player by the deadline.

@Malachians I think we all felt like giving up after that! If he would’ve come out with some cliche that we were better and deserved to win and concentrate on the league etc he would’ve been criticised even more

I don’t understand why Amorim is getting rinsed over these pretty honest comments. This is exactly how 99% of people feel in their jobs, their marriages, and their friendships etc
Fabrizio Romano@FabrizioRomano

🚨 Rúben Amorim: “Sometimes I want to quit, sometimes I want to be here 20 years. I need to improve on that”. “Every time we have one defeat like that, I am going to be like that. Sometimes I am going to say I hate my players, sometimes I am going to say I love my players”.
