@adfelly @HagenSnellBB The 12G season was 2020 so technically he pitched a full year since every pitcher who was healthy all got 12 starts too. But unfortunately he did miss a lot of games between 2021-2024. I believe he can still make the HoF if he remains healthy for the remainder of his career

It seems other pitchers with the same injury are immediately getting surgery
For whatever the reason, Manaea did not get it. We can’t say for sure if the results would be different, but cleaning it up makes sense

The Mets do not need a long reliever, since they have Tobias Myers. Keeping Manaea on the roster means working around him when the only thing the Mets should be worried about is winning games. Besides, it does not seem fair to Manaea, who simply does not look right. When he is right, his velocity is better and his stuff is sharper. Whatever he and the team insist about his health, he has been off since spring training, throwing in the high 80s. I would see if the loose bodies he decided not to get surgically removed are still affecting that elbow, and I would suggest he remove them. He is not helpful in the bullpen as is, and the Mets need as many effective relievers as they can get. And his best chance at an effective future is likely a total physical reset."

@metsbatflip1 Because he no longer qualifies as a prospect. Same with McLean. Idk what the minimum threshold is to no longer qualify as a prospect, but it makes sense that they exceeded it since McLean is a full time starter and Benge is a full time player.

Maybe a change of scenery will help him. Mets will most likely have to give up a top 5-10 prospect for them to take Semien though

@CupofMets From 2021-2025 Cohen had 3 winning seasons and 2 playoff appearances vs 2002-2019 where the Wilpons only had 6 winning seasons and 3 playoff appearances. Clearly winning a WS isn’t a one year ordeal. It takes time a patience. Cohen has done more in 5 years than the Wilpons in 17.

@Masterflip_ If the Giants also take on Semiens contract that would help a lot too. However, if the Mets manage to retain Ewing, Morabito, and Clifford the Mets will have to move Bichette to 2B and Devers will play 3B and if I remember correctly he’s not that good defensively over there.

The Giants would have to take on Sean Manaea’s contract and commit an additional $50M to cover the years 2028–2033.

Those prospects aren’t far away from making their debut so there’d be no room for Devers assuming the Giants don’t ask for all those prospects in return which is costly.
