A friend who doesn’t have a credit or debit card asked me to buy a ticket for his son online on the Harare to Johannesburg route. The cheapest ticket on that route was US$565 at 4PM today, I have checked again this evening, the cheapest ticket is now on US$666 return to Johannesburg. Africa will never succeed with this type of pricing, it simply makes doing business extremely expensive. What do African leaders with their transport ministers discuss when they meet at the African Union or at SADC? Sometimes it is cheaper to fly from Africa to Europe than flying on a one hour thirty minutes flight from one Africa capital to another! Serious African leaders should be tackling this, everything starts with politics and manifests in economics.

With drought means they'll be more social problems that will arise and here a few • prostitution - when people are hungry to be more specific women, they will resort to prostitution • divorces - as prostitution rises, so will be the breakup of many marriages • HIV/AIDS and other STDs - the rise in prostitution sees the rise in HIV/AIDS and other STDs infections • orphans - with HIV/AIDS infections, deaths related to the pandemic rise as well, resulting in a lot of orphans • child headed homes - as many children are left as orphans usually in the care of grandparents who are too old to work and provide, the result is young children being forced to take care of their siblings • child marriages - in times of hunger, young girls will be betrothed/forced into arranged marriages with wealthy men so they can take care of their families • unemployment - with a drought it also happens that many companies will be forced to close shop or retrench, adding to an already high number of the unemployed • drug abuse - with high unemployment, comes drug abuse, as a form of escapism from a dreadful reality • crime - what comes next to the mind of the unemployed and with drug addiction, yes you guessed right, crime. We will witness unprecedented levels of crime And this requires serious effort and cooperation between governments and NGOs in coming up with solutions to mitigate the effects of the drought Learn OR perish!!!

A DISASTROUS BUDGET.. The proposed tax measures is an absolute disgrace and a reminder that Rhodesia is back. What a mockery to our independence and liberation ideals!! Never expect a good budget from a bad government, especially upon rigged elections. The chickens are coming home to roost. Nothing stands on lies. Things fall apart. Everything is collapsing like a deck of cards.All budget fundamentals ignored. No particular regard paid to the Abuja Declaration on Health, Maputo Declaration on Agriculture, and the Dakar Declaration on Education Financing. The budget is a heap of more pain, penury and suffering. Many people are being left behind. Zimbabwe has become not just banana but a cartels Republic. Zimbabwe needs a new government- A Citizens government and a return to majority rule #ForEveryone
