@waithera_jk I’ve never actually thought of a bookish chama (before this conversation). And I haven’t seen one amongst my peers. But yes, it seems like a beneficial thing. Kama ilikusaidia jana, then it would’ve definitely come in handy for me if I was in one.

@waithera_jk Ah, nice. Looking forward to seeing them. This time, there was a section on Kenyan history (and I was glad to see it), so, I dwelt more on that side, rather than novels and African Lit (which was also in plenty). Got 6 books (down from 30 last time). Will share in a few.

@AnganaKeith the box is still unboxed but i will share. lots of poetry though, a few gardening books, travel (was lucky to get one on Gabon just when i’m planning to go back), ofc kidogo fiction - left with lots of ⚪️ male authors (not my preference). i’ll share a pic. what did you get?

It is not surprising that activist intellectuals can become a dictator's sooth sayer. Still, I am surprised that Prof. Makau serves as Ruto's Senior Advisor on Constitutional Affairs. How do you advise a bumbling dictator on the constitution unless you are helping them learn how best to subvert it? Plus the stupidity of it all, how do you determine if when I say 'wantam' I do not mean one term? As in I went to school and did only wantam/one term? Is this where the police determine when one term is not wantam by tone? By what syllables were stressed? This could be considered asinine, dangerous and funny all at the same time.
