I had a very productive engagement yesterday with the @WorldBank team led by the visiting Division director for East Africa Mr Qimiao Fan . We reviewed the performance of the current portfolio of World bank funded projects in the sector and the prospective projects to come under the #agriconnect framework. I thanked the @WorldBankGroup for now focusing on supporting enablers of precision farming like ; Appropriate Irrigation & mechanisation technologies, Support to Private sector players ( large scale commercial farming) and all other interventions aimed at increasing production and productivity.

Planning for enough feeds in dairy farming is very critical for sustainable production, animal health & nutrition. While Corn (maize) silage is the most recommended for dairy animals because of its higher nutrient composition ( high starch; regarded as the energy king ) compared to Napier grass silage, most farmers find it ( Corn/maize ) not economically sustainable( high costs of production recurrent every season). Napier silage ( with minimal production costs because of its regenerative capability) can be a very cost-effective alternative if properly managed (using molasses/maize flour additives) & can achieve similar milk yields compared to corn.  Napier silage is also high-volume & offers higher protein. The Napier grass can also be served fresh ( cut, carry & feed). I wish you all fellow farmers a blessed Easter weekend 🙏

@sejudav The General makes fair political analysis respectfully and everyone here has done so...a political contestation of a serving govt Minister and sitting Speaker of Parliament is of greater public interest. Qn is what mileage is Senior @OfwonoOpondo seeking, engaging as he has.

Twenty six years ago, on this day--17th March 2000, we were in the Freedom Square @Makerere University for that year's graduation ceremony, when news started filtering in that a mad priest had slaughtered hundreds, perhaps thousands in a remote village in Kanungu. The name of the priest was Joseph Kibwetere, and his cult church, The Movement for the Restoration of the Ten Commandments of God. By the end of ceremony which was presided over by President @KagutaMuseveni, then the Chancellor of the university, the story of our graduation had been overshadowed and eclipsed by the mass murder in Kanungu. And just like that, our big day of joy was shared with tragedy. In the days that followed, hollowing tales of how cult leaders hoodwinked their followers that the end of the world was coming, and burnt them to death became the defining story from the Pearl of Africa. A few weeks later, I travelled to my village in Kabale where I held a graduation party, where at least, I was the big news in the entire sub county of Bukinda, as the first graduate with a degree in Mass Communication. NB: The Vice Chancellor then was Prof John Mary Ssebuwufu, the DVC was Prof Justin Epelu Opio. The Academic Registra was Prof Hyuha Mukwanason. The Dean of Students was John Ekudu, and the University Secretary was Dr Avitus Tibarimbasa.

@Rwakakamba There are moral lessons to this corner kick, visible disappointment by Gabriel and the winning goal that sealed Everton's fate.

A witch poisons a city’s well, driving everyone who drinks from it mad. The King remains sane but is branded "insane" by his deluded subjects. To bridge the gap and maintain his rule, he finally drinks the water, choosing shared madness over isolated sanity. The Price of power!

@DuncanAbigaba A scorpion asks a frog to carry him across a river. The frog refuses, fearing a sting. The scorpion argues, "If I sting you, we both drown." The frog agrees, but halfway across, the scorpion stings him. As they sink, the frog asks why. The scorpion replies, "It is my nature."

My daily prayer is simple: even if God gives me little, may it be enough so that I never have to kneel before those who torment and humiliate us. They enjoy watching us on our knees, singing their names!
