We've been investigating the "Failed to launch game" error message & have been tracking via EA Forums.
We're working on a fix & testing it over the weekend to resolve this asap, currently targeting a patch early next week. We'll update you as we can.

Sul sul, we have a fix for the issue that was unintentionally impacting CC. This update will start rolling out roughly within the next 15 hours & we’ll confirm once it’s live. Thanks for your reports & patience while we worked to resolve this asap!

@blushyypie @TheSimsDirect Go to Documents, Electronic Arts, and rename the folder The Sims 4 to “backup.” Then launch the game normally. Once everything is working fine, move back your Mods, Tray, Saves, and Screenshots folders to the new “The Sims 4”
