I cannot help but notice how swiftly today’s Sydney attack was condemned by current and former presidents and prime ministers, as well as by their wives, children, and even grandchildren. Of course, it is an act that deserves condemnation. What is striking, however, is the clear absence of the same swift and unequivocal condemnation when terror attacks are carried out against the Palestinian people by Israeli terrorist forces. I saw no condemnation of Israel’s killing of two siblings, aged 11 and 8, in Gaza on 11/29/2025. I saw no condemnation of Israel’s killing of two entire Abu Shawish families (11 people in total) on 11/22/2025. I saw no condemnation of Israel’s killing of 11 others, including seven children aged between 5 and 13, from the Shabaan and Abu Shabaan families on 10/17/2025. These are just three examples of Israeli attacks carried out after the so-called ceasefire began, attacks that drew no condemnation from those same current and former presidents and prime ministers, nor from their families. And, of course, no commitments were made by these current and former presidents and prime ministers to halt Israel’s terror against the occupied Palestinian people or to offer protection amid decades of brutal military occupation.
