📢📢Big news from #teambutterfly! Our 1st yr of trialing captive overwintering of mottled duskywing @Conservatory_ and the larvae are waking up!! We still need them to pupate and emerge to consider this trial 'successful' but @AngelaDemarse and @ETrendos have got them this far!

We are reaching out with an urgent request to our Ontario community. Can you, or someone you know, help out our loggerhead shrike recovery team? We need a trailer to house our field biologists in the Carden area where we are working to save this endangered songbird. 1/4

In the 1950s, when I was a child, CEOs made about 20x more than the average worker. In the 1980s when I was mayor of Burlington, CEOs made 42x more. In 2000, when I was in the House, CEOs made about 120x more. Today, they're making almost 400x more. Unacceptable.

Did you know New Jersey Tea (Ceanothus americanus) seed heads explode!? 💥. Putting seed heads in a tarp allows #teambutterfly member, Mary Gartshore, to capture them for cleaning! This amount of plant material only has about 2 kilos of seed 😲

I started a #100DayProject to digitize and honour #100StudySpecies as a way to practice my visual science communication and adobe illustrator skills. Which animals do you want to see next?
