I sat through Axel Rudakubana’s Sentencing Hearing. Will never forget the cries of the parents of the little girls that monster had murdered or maimed. The full list of the knife wounds he inflicted on each child was demonic. He didn’t just kill them. The truth is Rudakubana should be executed. No society can tolerate its youngest citizens being massacred - he found a Taylor Swift dance class online and he deliberately targetted the female and the vulnerable. He was radicalized online and he learned how to butcher. No prison or hospital is sufficient. Rudakubana needs to go to hell where all the devils are.

Five years ago today I buried my 12-year-old daughter Semina. After reporting to police she had been groomed, raped, beaten and bullied Semina took her own life after being told it was her word against his. 18 months later an IOPC report showed that the detective in charge of the case had an admission of guilt but failed to arrest him. Semina nor myself were told at the time he had admitted to the rape, if she had been told she would still be here instead she was failed by all authorities payed to protect her and died thinking she wasnt believed. 💔

This could happen to any child. If nothing changes, it is only a matter of time before another family is living our nightmare. Sienna was riding her bike and playing with her friends after school on a cycle path in the park—a place where children should be able to laugh, play and feel safe. Instead, she was struck by a motorbike that was being ridden where it never should have been. The impact was so violent it snapped her bike in half. Before this, Sienna was an active, fearless little girl. She loved MMA, backflips on the trampoline, and making everyone around her smile. In an instant, all of that changed. She has suffered life-changing injuries. Her head was partially internally decapitated, and we have been told that the fact she is still here is nothing short of a miracle. I am angry beyond words. I am heartbroken beyond measure. To the people who choose to ride motorbikes up and down cycle paths, parks and places where children play: every time you make that choice, you are gambling with someone's life. You may think it won't happen. You may think you are in control. But your decision could kill a child. It nearly killed mine. No family should ever have to hear the words we heard. No child should have to endure the pain Sienna has endured. No parent should have to watch their child fight for their life because someone chose to ignore the safety of everyone around them. Sienna is the strongest, bravest, funniest girl I know. She is still fighting every single day. Now we will fight too—not just for her, but for every child who deserves to be safe while playing with their friends. Please don't wait until the next child isn't as lucky. This has to stop.
