1. Everyone loves Timpsons - I don't know why you don't use the name on your watch lab stores.
2. This post itself will do super well in raising some niche awareness. Follow it up with a note asking people to share it with anyone they know in St Albans.

I’m after some advice…we opened a new Watch Lab shop in St Albans a few weeks ago and it’s not doing as well as I’d hoped. In fact yesterday it took no money at all! We have added a simple sign in the window saying “watch repairs”, but do you have any other ideas?!

@JamesTCobbler There are so many pop ups in The Maltings that no one would notice unless they were looking! I'd never heard of the Watch Lab but everyone knows Timpsons in town and also at Colney Fields. Also, most people don't go into town unless they have to or they're going out to eat.

Maybe, instead of National Service for 18 year olds they should introduce national service for MPs.
They all have to do several weeks volunteering in a school, GP, hospital, care home, social care and police within their first 12 months in office.

@SEND_Action With great difficulty! The LA give me a direct payment of 4 hours per week in the holidays to fund 1:1 at a holiday club. I have not found a single club that will take my child.

Can any working parent carers explain to me how they manage school holidays? I’m looking at new roles as mine is changing and I have no idea what I’m going to do. I’ve been working in NHS coproduction / service user representation for 6 years. It started very small / flexible

@MartinSLewis I haven't been able to travel on a train/by public transport for years as it's totally inaccessible.

As another thought on this - I wonder if it breaks the disability discrimination laws (I'm not a lawyer I dont know). The toilet (singular) would be totally inaccessible for someone who was in a wheelchair.

Dear @EastMidRailway this train (Ldn - Sheffield) is disgraceful. Every seat taken, every standing space taken, scores sitting in mid train corridors so I guess 500 people on it and ONLY ONE WORKING TOILET at one end, so people must crawl over each 100s to reach it. It's degrading, like something from the 19th century. PS and as I walked to the loo, apologising profusely, a number of people asked me to say something publicly about it. One of the reasons for this tweet.

@RachelAdamSmith @PastoralKaty Same for autistic/ADHD children who need 1:1 in school...very little available for them in the holidays. At most, I get half a day childcare but I have to stay on site and attempt to work at the same time.

@PastoralKaty Too long for those with learning disabilities & their carers. There’s often nothing for them to do in the holidays compared to children without learning disabilities. It could have taken months to learn one thing & the long break from their routine causes loss of skill & distress

@Headteacherchat I'm a parent and there are a lot of job shares in our primary school and it works really well for the children. I think it's encouraging to have a school so supportive of flexible contracts

Advice please. More than half parents unhappy about upcoming job share. Have met 1on1 & rep group, we still think best for their chn. They don’t think fair (2 form) & not good model. Wanting to come back to us after talking to rest of parents.
