@dsprimed No. You’re an ORRsome Dad. My Dad would try to pay for everything. If he, Mum and I shared a taxi and I insisted on paying, he’d tell me I only owed a third because there were 3 of us. My Dad was a generous and fair man. Mum said she could never have married a mean man.

It's been a rough day. My daughter took us all for a pint and I'm not sure whether I'm proud we can all go out or that my kids are old enough to drive me around and have drinks with us.

Complaining is the easiest thing to do. It's also one of the most limiting. A complaining state crushes creativity. It makes achievement harder. It repels good talent. It poisons the room you walk into. So I made a decision: Every time I complain, I say something I'm grateful for. One of the Heads of School has started watching #TheLeftovers on my recommendation as 'the best TV show I've ever seen with the most perfect ending' and so now I'm on my fourth rewatch. There will be tears. There will be more revelations, connections and realisations too.

Inbox: 0. Not filtered or gamed, just decided. 15,000 emails in a year showed me this wasn’t organisation, it was avoidance. An overloaded inbox slows your thinking and your leadership. If it matters, act. If not, let it go. I won’t use it as storage again.

The best leaders don’t just manage their time. They manage their energy. And energy needs something many people forget to schedule: Rest. Because constant motion might feel productive… …but recovery is what actually sustains performance.

There's a lot of despondency around at the moment. I'd comment - but as I'm actively planning my early exit, it seems hypocritical. I've made my decision. It's scary to think about it. It's scarier to face down more than another couple of years.
