@angelo_fantasy Yep very smart runner. Pacheco running style but with a better cut I'll be interested in the 4th of a rookie draft

@angelo_fantasy made a GREAT point about Moss and elite speedsters on our show last night: The faster a WR moves, the faster he must process intel at that speed. There is a point of diminishing returns with many elite speedsters because they can’t execute like Moss at top speed. The best WRs who are often in the 4.5-4.6+ range win by varying pace and their processing isn’t outstripped by their movement. Podcast available soon…

Randy Moss was the fastest player to ever step on a football field 😮‍💨

Mike Washington Jr. - Through Contact Skillset Poor diversity & balance through contact. Plays smaller than his frame would suggest when contact is initiated. This is an issue throughout his game near the LOS & in open areas - doesn’t utilize his acceleration capabilities enough as a through contact aid. Similar skills through contact to Kaleb Johnson in last year’s cycle. Washington shows upper-shelf play speed relative to size & sound anticipatory qualities, but is a near-zero through contact. If he can't clean up his toolbox through contact he won't stick around the league long. There are moments where Washington flashes the size/speed combination, but the consistency isn't there right now to be a long-term starter.

For backs, the anticipatory & cognitive skillset is more important than the surface level testing metrics when it comes to agility. Agility is largely reactive & non-static in nature on the field. He wins in a similar fashion to Singletary & Irving who have had success. My worry with him is his lack of force he brings to engagements in the LRZ.

@angelo_fantasy Mostly his speed relative to size, but also overall his RAS score is low. He jukes a lot but doesn't really gain ground. His 3 cone and 20 yd shuttle times were not close to elite

Emmett Johnson: Through contact skillset Excellent balance-based qualities & can create explosives when he's seemingly pinned down. The slide step he utilizes is an aid through contact here as well - negates glances & indirect wrap attempts with it, regularly. Where Johnson can get into trouble is the low red zone. Has a difficult time with playing defenders square through contact. Rarely, does he gain yards by accelerating through direct engagements. Struggles when he can't pivot and negate wrap attempts. Can get blown up in gap by backers when he has to put his shoulder down in short-yardage scenarios.

Bell, absolutely. He’s one I don’t quite understand the hype on. Brazzell is trickier because the upside is a legitimate WR1. Stowers is another version of Jordan Reed which doesn’t fit every offense in today’s 12p dominated game.
Jack Brentnall@Jack_Brentnall

If you see Stowers as a WR (and I get that argument) are you really ranking him over the likes of Chris Bell and Chris Brazzell who are in a similar range on the consensus board? Whatever position you see him playing he feels like a firm day 3 guy to me

-- Name that prospect -- - Movement toolbox & Movement economy - Economical mover with an ideal combination of fluidity & abruptness to be an every-down rusher if he recieves the opportunity. Regularly surprises defenders with the oscillation of tempo through his cuts & ability to change speeds easily. Has some fun moments as a mover where he varies stride length to manipulate a downhill defender - tough to deal with him in both open & condensed areas. Wins singular engagements regularly against backers & displays the lateral skillset needed to beat defensive backs at a high clip. Not an overly dramatic mover in terms of tools - his marriage of acceleration & economy drives his game. - Skillset as a receiver - Above-average skillset as a receiving option. Shows the tempo needed to run the angle/option elements of the RB tree & can snare off-target passes with sound technique. His capabilities as a screen receiver are the most noteworthy capability when talking about how he contributes as a pass catcher. Weaves through alleys to create explosives in the screen game with great awareness for upfield blocking angles. - Anticipatory qualities & Field IQ - Excellent feel for what defenders are giving him combined with what is being blocked. Shows advanced manipulative tactics in gap & in space. High field IQ & instincts - rarely makes movement based mistakes. Played behind a porous offensive line with middle of the road Quarterback play - definitely feel that his system/line held him back from much greater performances. - Play Speed - Upper shelf accelerator with above-average capabilities at high speeds. About as well-rounded as you can get during acceleration. Can easily get by linebackers in a curvilinear fashion up the boundary & outrace a Safety that drops down into the box. An explosive play waiting to happen with sound blocking. Offers significant upside as a kick returner as well - field IQ & play speed are high-end enough for this to be a long-term role. - Through contact skillset & balance post-contact - Better than you would think for a back of his stature. Can work through wraps, shrug off glances and take on direct contact while not altering his forward momentum. His frame can show up - he’ll be overpowered at times by backers, but is generally difficult to tackle for any defender with how well he combines his acceleration with sound pad level. Above requisite during in-direct contact - bounces around when not wrapped up & can push piles. - Non-linear athletic qualities - Spins, changes pace, and can re-accelerate when in awkward positions. Extremely quick & decisive mover who shows advanced creative elements. Can chain lateral to linear fluidly - does not decelerate during cuts. - Down to down dependability - Can carry the load for an offense down to down. Trust his between-the-ears traits to keep an offense on schedule. The biggest issue will be the fumbles - 9 in the past two seasons. That number could cause a slide in the NFL draft. Has to keep the ball tighter to his frame & protect during hard contact. Can try to deflect off of defenders for additional yardage & can lead to ball security issues. There are times when tackles & ends strip him from behind when he is focused on the upfield defender. - Success in short areas - The best low red zone player in this 2026 cycle. Plays big in small spaces & is decisive in goal-to-go situations. Appreciate his toughness & relentless motor when scoring opportunities arise.
