The fact that his detractors can’t even engage with his core ontological argument on the basis of morality, with millions just blindly agreeing with them, is all the proof you need that mass democracy doesn’t work. People vastly overestimate their own intelligence and lack the capacity for thinking critically and engaging honestly on the fundamental issues that are tantamount in shaping society and deciding the rules that govern us.
As the wise have long said, the strongest case against democracy is a five-minute conversation with the average voter.
