"Christianity has not annihilated the distinction of nations, nor was it intended, as all the previous commentaries plainly declare [Henry, Patrick, and etc] to change the laws of earthly governments, or do away with the social relations established among mankind."

This Memorial Day, I want to especially honor those Americans who died for our country in comparatively unremembered conflicts, such as the Mexican-American War.

@AngloSouthern I think the dress matters, sure. I'm also wondering how much kneeling and what (if any) petitions are happening between the consecration and the distribution of the elements.

Sadly, the Socinian denial that God needed to be reconciled to man through Christ's propitiatory sacrifice is alive and well in modern Christianity (across denominations).

I think one of the easiest ways to grasp the Trinity is to understand why all of the heretical alternatives are wrong: arianism, modalism, nestorianism,Tritheism, Eutychianism, etc.

In the Preface to "A Catechism: 1604 Redux", edited by the Rev. Jefferies, he refers to The Church-Catechism Explained by William Beveridge, Lord Bishop of St. Asaph. He calls the Bishop "that trustworthy Anglican Divine". What Eucharistology did the Bishop explain was taught by the Church of England Catechism? The same teaching which Jefferies rejects and titles "the Jewel School".

The announcement by President Trump about the potential peace deal is very good news. To make the deal effective we have to be realistic about Israel. We must recognize that a peace deal of any kind with the Iranian regime will be viewed by Israelis as an existential threat to their objectives, therefore they will seek to thwart the deal. To stop the Israelis from thwarting a potential peace deal, we will have to take away the military support that we provide that allows them to go on the offensive against Iran, and make it clear more will be taken from them if they attack Lebanon.

"It is, as we should naturally expect, in the latter part of the eleventh century that the rudiments of a cultus defiintely paid to the reserved Eucharist first appear. And their appearance is rather sudden ; it takes place, apparently, in Normandy, as a demonstration against Berengarian views of the sacrament." - William Freedstone, The Sacrament Reserved: A Survey of the Practice of Reserving the Eucharist, with Special Reference to the Communion of the Sick, During the First Twelve Centuries [London, 1912], pgs. 258-259.

In 1713 Edmund Gibson, then Archdeacon of Surrey, published his Codex Juris Ecclesiae Anglicani, which as the title suggests is a collection of statutes relating to the functioning of the Church of England. It theoretically at least suggests what is ‘authentic’ Anglican vesture.

Maybe it's just my feed but the repeated appeals to the Vincentian Canon in this year of our Lord 2026 is becoming my new pet peeve. For the last five years I never heard or read it mentioned and now it's everywhere.
