@Chaser_Tech @ezequiel51_ Combos should be something the player strives to find inherently within the game and by experimenting, not pre-programmed schlock that only work as written with no room for fluidity.

@ezequiel51_ So instead of "combos shouldn't exist" the argument is "player and enemy interactions should be more dynamic" I agree, however saying action games should not have combos completely muddles discussion around that and now we have people arguing against combos.

DMC1 and TW101 has combos. I know people want to really to push the narrative that action games shouldn't have combos but if all action games TRULY worked like this where every action is interrupted or have super armor, people would make games with comboable enemies. Lol
Patryk@akuma_spongebob

@ezequiel51_ I think, Hideki Kamiya doesn't even like the idea of combos in action games, DMC1 and TW101 don't really have them, besides one button strings. Bayonetta only has them because that game tried to pander to Itsuno "sandbox beat'em'up" crowd that loves doing 200+ useless attacks.

That makes us ponder the question, why God would bother to such a thing and then encourage us to tame and understand the world through sciences and such. Science is man's way of understanding God's created world, a gift from God. Why would God intentionally create a world that looks older than it is just to obfuscate the truth?? Just to mess with us??

@EthanVanSciver What if God created the universe and Earth as a mature creation? Meaning, it appears to have billions of years on it but it was actually created that way. That appears to be what Genesis is saying about Adam and Eve (created as adults, not babies). Think about it.

I'm not Catholic and what I'm saying is contrary to Mormon doctrine. It is CLEAR TO ME that Genesis is a series of fables. They are NOT history. It's not "God doing things His way." God doing this His was is evident in what we see around us, and what we can learn through science, not by misunderstanding the Bible.
Northumbria King@KingNorthumbria

@EthanVanSciver So your catholic now? Saying God can't do things His way? Gnostic heresy mixed in as well. Mormons did a number on you.

@MarisaACirrino @ThomBradley8 @Handre The states have the right to set one, and the Fed can feasibly say that a lower federal minimum wage can be seen as protecting the general welfare of the citizenry.

@ThomBradley8 @Handre The 10th Amendment reserves all powers not specifically granted to the federal government by the Constitution—nor prohibited to the states—to the states or the people. As minimum wage is not granted or prohibited by the Constitution, the states have the right to set one.

What people think minimum wage is: - Helping poor workers earn more - Fighting corporate greed - Basic human decency What minimum wage actually is: - A price floor that creates unemployment - Government forcing you to price out low-skilled workers - Making it illegal to hire someone whose productivity is below $15/hour When Seattle raised minimum wage to $15, teen employment dropped 31% in two years. You didn't help workers—you eliminated their jobs entirely. Every minimum wage hike destroys the bottom rung of the economic ladder that teenagers and unskilled workers need to climb. The irony? Politicians who never ran a business telling entrepreneurs they must pay workers more than they produce. Pure economic illiteracy dressed up as compassion.

This falls under Tenth Amendment territory. Minimum wage is a state issue a majority of the time, it's within the rights of the state legislature to regulate the economic structure within their territory. Likewise, the Constitution does say one of the Federal government's roles is to ensure the general welfare of the citizenry. Ensuring that there be a fair minimum employers must pay to employees so they aren't being completely extorted does, whether we like it or not, fall under that provision. Just because the Constitution doesn't explicitly say something in black and white doesn't mean something can't reasonably fall under the general provisions that the Constitution does lay out.
Thom Bradley@ThomBradley8

@Handre Nowhere in the US Constitution is there any provision giving the federal state and local governments any authority to set the dollar value of wages. Minimum wage is not constitutional. The government does have the right to mandate wages be paid for work performed.

I'd consider a game smart if it figures something out based on the rules its programmed with, but weren't necessarily designed to be implemented by the cpu in such a manner. A sort of thing where the AI is programmed with a task and, in the pursuit of that task, does something it wasn't intended to do, but isn't actually breaking the rules.

It came mostly from the fact that resources, as a whole, were limited in areas. Sure, across the whole estate, if you scrounged every corner, and are like Scrooge McDuck with every shotgun shell you find, there absolutely is enough ammo and resources to fill a small ammo chest. But, doing so essentially requires a knowledge of the game that goes beyond an initial playthrough. It's the moment to moment lapses plus the expectation that the player won't hesitate to at least take down a few enemies here and there.

@Colgruv @urneighbourino @vir78507 The ETECSA is the communism. Translated it means Telecommunications Company of Cuba, S.A. It's the sole communications provider in Cuba that is owned by the state. There are no other communications companies in Cuba. It's monopolized by the government.

The same business plan that leads these people to create and sell normal music, drawings, movies, and games even though their customers can do that: Because they think they're better than their customers, and thus, you should WANT to give them your money, they shouldn't need to earn it.
Frost of Rivia@TheOtherFrost

Not to be confrontational, but what is the business plan behind selling genAI drawings, games, movies, music when your customers could ALSO use genAI to make their own?

Because of the ETECSA, Cuba's government sanctioned communications control and their deals with phone carriers that make any tourist usage exorbitantly expensive in the country. Exorbitantly expensive and incredibly low quality, of course. Not to mention AT&T's own account policies where they reserve the right to halt your services for reaching certain thresholds of data charges while roaming. At a rate of approximately $2 per megabyte in Cuba... That's not much data at all to hit high roaming costs.

@vir78507 Losing all means of communication in a country that isn’t your own and have familiarity with, would naturally make someone concerned for their safety. How does that have anything to do with communism?
