₦80m Is Too Small for a 300-guest Wedding— Influencer Simi Sanya Influencer Simi Sanya has sparked conversations online after revealing that a budget of ₦80 million is “small” for anyone planning a big wedding. Speaking during an interview, Simi was asked how much someone should budget for a lavish wedding. Referencing a previous discussion where someone mentioned spending ₦80 million for about 300 guests, she agreed that while it may sound like a huge amount, it is actually not much for a grand celebration. When the interviewer asked, “₦80 million, is it too small?” Simi replied, “It’s small oo.” She went on to explain that the total cost of a wedding depends on several factors, including the venue, decoration, catering, and the couple’s personal preferences. Simi revealed that her traditional wedding was held on Lagos Island, while her white wedding took place on the mainland, a decision she said helped them save money on venue costs. According to her, hall rental prices on the Island are significantly more expensive than those on the mainland, although decoration remains costly regardless of the location. She advised intending couples who want to cut costs to consider holding their weddings on the mainland or in Ikorodu. “If you are choosing to do your wedding on the island, just start budgeting ₦10 million and above for hall.” Speaking on catering, Simi said couples can choose to pay per plate if they want to reduce expenses, but that was not the approach she took. “Me, I didn’t do that. I wanted people to eat, be filled and be merry.” She added that every wedding is different and ultimately depends on what the couple is willing to spend, noting that décor alone can also cost around ₦5 million. When asked what she would have done if her husband wasn’t willing to give her the wedding of her dreams, Simi smiled and replied: “He loves me, so he wants my dream wedding. Anything that makes me happy.”

@instablog9ja So it’s an obligation for a man alone to have money and raised a family, like to what dimension is she coming from? If a woman have her own money her man have his own money what’s wrong with that. Must a woman be a complete liability to man? SMH

Dating: If My Man Earns ₦5k, He Should Give Me at Least ₦3k; the Day He Asks Me for Money, He’ll Never Hear From Me Again— Podcaster Toke Makinwa Media personality Toke Makinwa has said she has never been in a relationship where a man asked her for money, adding that she considers it a deal breaker if a partner ever does. Speaking during a recent episode of her podcast, Toke Moments, which featured reality TV star Mercy Eke, Makinwa reflected on conversations about women being asked to financially support their partners. She said she often wonders why she has never had such an experience. “When I hear women say these things, I sit down and I ask myself, why don’t men ask me for money? Men don’t ask me for money.” She jokingly suggested that perhaps the way she presents herself or shares her own challenges discourages men from asking her for financial assistance. “Maybe there is something on my head. Maybe because before you ask me, I’m already giving you all my problems? As soon as you say how are you? Today I have a headache.’ Maybe that’s why.” Makinwa maintained that even the men she had dated who were not financially stable never requested money from her. “I’ve never dated a guy who has ever asked me for money. Even if I date a broke guy, he earns 5K, at least 3K out of that money he’ll give it to me”. Expressing gratitude for the experience, she insisted that she has never dated a man who confidently asked her for financial support, stressing that doing so would immediately end the relationship. “I’m thankful for that grace though, because I’ve never, ever, ever dated a guy that has confidently asked me for money. The day you do, you’ll never hear from me again .”

@instablog9ja Not only women even also your own family members. This might sound wicked but it's true. When you keep doing for your family and ignore yourself and unfortunate for you, you lose your source of income, those that you've been helping will be the one saying don't you have savings
