A passionate advocate for students, families, and staff, he has helped cultivate a school culture where everyone feels seen, supported, and empowered to succeed. His commitment to expanding student programming and creating meaningful opportunities has contributed to lower suspension rates, stronger academic achievement, increased first-choice ballots, and graduation rates consistently above 90%. Mr. Morales is a leader who uplifts the community, opens doors for others, and serves as a source of strength and inspiration for so many. We’re truly fortunate to have you. 🫶

🎉 Congratulations to Gorton High School Principal Mr. Jamie Morales on being named the 2025–2026 Administrator of the Year! Superintendent Soler surprised Mr. Morales with the exciting news this morning alongside his family, students, and colleagues. Under his leadership, Gorton now houses two PTECH programs, a Smart Scholars program, and four certified CTE pathways, including Medical, Marketing, and Engineering. Principal Morales has expanded academic opportunities, strengthened student support programs, and sustained graduation rates above 90%. The Yonkers Board of Education unanimously re-elected Dr. Rosalba Corrado Del Vecchio as President and Trustee Gail Burns as Vice President for a one-year term. It’s Teacher Appreciation Week, and throughout the #YonkersPublicSchools district, our teachers continue to go above and beyond, leading not only in the classroom, but also by uplifting students, celebrating culture, and building community. Just last month at Lincoln High School, teacher Amanda Marji, with the support of Mrs. Kwasi and Ms. Norman, organized a meaningful celebration honoring Arab American Heritage Month. The event featured culturally relevant food, décor, and opportunities to learn about different Arab countries, fostering connection among students and staff. Their efforts reflect just one of the many ways our educators continue to lead and make an impact. Thank you to all of our teachers for your care, creativity, and dedication each and every day. 💙

Lincoln High School is now the proud home of the first-ever hydroponic classroom in the City of Yonkers. This milestone was made possible through an incredible partnership with NY Sun Works and funding from the NYS Department of Agriculture and Markets! 🌱 Known as the “Secret Garden,” this innovative space empowers students to build knowledge and a sense of responsibility for caring for their communities, preparing the next generation of environmental leaders. Students proudly welcomed Mayor Mike Spano, Superintendent Soler, Councilmembers John Rubbo and Tasha Diaz, as well as a representative from the office of US Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, to showcase their cutting-edge learning environment. Congratulations to the Lincoln High School students and school community on this exciting achievement!
