@astrilwoods Honestly I didn't quite know what the book was trying to say with the Pawoo and Bisco stuff, but yeah I didnt like that part either. I guess there's 7 more books and counting in this series so plenty of time for the character relationships to develop more

@AnimesocMegan How do you feel about Pawoo assaulting Bisco though? A case of more censorship? My group of queer friends and I got hella triggered by it. It was so out of left field!

So I finally got around to reading vol 1 of Rust Eater Bisco - and it's the best light novel debut I've seen in quite a while. Strong worldbuilding, action, fun characters and some surprisingly great queer rep

@MikeyBuysManga I can see why the LN might get overlooked by a lot of people - it falls pretty far outside the usual LN genres of isekai, romcom etc :/
re: the manga, Comikey announced they digitally licensed it, but doesn't look like they've actually started putting it out yet

@Ferenteeny Hmm, Yen Press's font size does tend to be on the small side. I just checked my bookshelf and the size is comparable to other Yen titles like Re:Zero, Spider, Seven Spellblades*, if you have experience with the print of these

I know legibility is subjective, but would you consider the font size in the print edition to be on the small size? I mostly need to use eReaders for accessibility but I’d love to pick this one up in print if I can!

I also loved the setting and worldbuilding - the afterwords mentions Fist of the North Star, also reminds me of Dorohedoro. At 8 vols and counting in Japan I'm excited to see where this series goes from here. Highly reccomended 👌

We don't often get queer rep in LNs, so I was surprised when Milo's sister halfway through the book says this. Then the book goes as far as not only confirming Milo's feelings for Bisco, but having them play a huge role in the emotional payoff. Really well handled all in all

@RommyRayne Ishikawa confirmed she wrote the Japanese lyrics for Flow and Close in the Distance first, and the EN translators took her lyrics and made the English lyrics that are sung in the actual songs
