Unlike the fake quotes below, here are some actual quotes about India by America's Founding Fathers. Note the contempt for British colonialism and the admiration for Indian philosophy.

@curbenjoyer Man no one's bootlicking. But you can't be rigid about ideals in real world politics. Gotta make compromises to keep winning. Just like Himanta, man seems to be dedicated to the Hindutva cause at least on the forefront. If he can do our work, may well just get behind him, no?

Sitting in his flat's bedroom in South Kolkata and sipping Darjeeling tea, preferably from Makaibari tea estate, the Bangali bhodrolok begins his day by reading the newspaper. As he reads reports of lynchings, failing economy, he exclaims that the country has gone to the dogs.

To throw in some hesitant optimism, if we've all concluded that BJP wins via coercion, manipulation, fraud and daylight robbery -- and criminal horsetrading if nothing works (...the evidence being as plain as the nose on your face) - then let's carry some hope that we're not largely vile & obnoxious hateful bigoted Sanghis. If the opposition figures out the math (despite the EC fraud) we stand a chance to save our country from doom. Hesitant optimism, or else we will give up.

Today, while celebrating BJP’s victory in #Bengal, remember Abhijit Sarkar. Bow your head to the first face of Bengal’s post-poll horror in 2021 🥹 After #ElectionResults on 2 May, TMC goons surrounded his home. Abhijit was inside with a rescued dog and her 5 newborn puppies. They dragged him out, attacked his house, and in front of him, crushed those innocent puppies one by one. Then they killed him too. His only crime? He was a BJP karyakarta. “They destroyed my house in front of police. They beat my innocent puppies to death.” Today is not just victory. Bengal remembers.

Deeply hurt by the brutal killing of our young karyakarta, Trilochan Mahato in Balarampur,West Bengal. A young life full of possibilities was brutally taken out under state’s patronage. He was hanged on a tree just because his ideology differed from that of state sponsored goons.

THIs is the same BJP that had a scare in 2024 General Elections. Within the next 2 years it has won all the major states like Bihar, Maharashtra, Haryana, WB etc one by one. What did they do in last couple years to get such unprecedented support? Nothing but EC explains it

All lefties rant about democracy and constitution as long as people vote for them. But as soon as they lose, they suddenly adopt Plato as their daddy to take jibes at people. Plato was someone who hated democracy btw. In his important work  “Republic” (Greek: Politeia), Plato envisions a just society governed by philosopher-rulers: i.e. individuals trained in philosophy and possessing wisdom to rule in the interest of all. This ideal state is hierarchical, divided into three classes:  I. Philosopher - Rulers (philosophers who are wise and rule as monarchs) II. Guardians (warriors, civil servants, etc.) III. Producers (commoners: artisans, farmers, etc.) The philosopher ruler rules with wisdom. Their decisions will be implemented by the guardian class which is made up of warriors, civil servants, and other bureaucrats who implement the decisions of the philosopher ruler and are a highly protected class. These guardians then control the commoners who form the producer class whose concerns are economical and supply everything that is needed by the society to function. Plato also proposes that the members of the first two classes should lead a communal and celibate life devoid of family and private property so that they remain focused only on the welfare of the state and are not swayed by personal selfish interests that would lead to corruption and factionism. Note that since Plato requires the philosopher and guardian class to be celibate, this class system cannot be hereditary and can be by only through merit determined from education and training. This system of ideal state is called an aristocracy (Greek: aristos = noble, excellent, great). While Plato says that aristocracy, the rule of the wise, is the ideal form of governance, he classifies governments into five categories with his ideal form of governance aristocracy at the top and placing other forms of worse governments after it so that the governance becomes progressively worse as you go from the first to the fifth. They are: 1. Aristocracy (Rule by the wise) 2. Timocracy (Rule by the guardian class) 3. Oligarchy (Rule by the wealthy) 4. Democracy (Rule by the masses / poor) 5. Tyranny (Rule by an evil monarch) The second best rule in the Platonian hierarchy is the rule of the warrior class who are mentioned as guardians. Plato calls it timocracy (Greek: time = honor, glory) because the warrior class would seek honor and glory instead of justice guided by wisdom. It is not the best form of government but still next to it because honor is next to wisdom in the Platonian hierarchy of what to seek. The third form of government is oligarchy (Greek: oligos = few). Here, the members of the producing class take control but it is the few wealthy ones who rule. This is not at all a good form of governance but still Plato concedes that the appetites of the wealthy elite are stable. Among the worst forms of governance comes democracy (Greek: demos = common man), which should be surprising to a modern reader but very obvious considering the fact that it was democracy that sentenced the wisest man of Athens and Plato’s teacher Socrates to death in 399 BCE. Plato argues that the appetites of the poor masses are unstable and easily swayed by many things and hence a democracy would be a mob rule for Plato which drifts very far from the justice seeking rule of the wise or the honor seeking rule of the warriors or wealth seeking rule of the rich. Democracy is just next to the worst form of government that is ever possible, which is tyranny (Greek: tyrannos = tyrant), which is rule by an evil monarch whose appetites are selfish, sensual and beastly. The ideal society hence according to Plato is one where the three classes perform their duties sincerely and don’t attempt to take each other’s roles - the philosopher rules and guides, the guardians fight and enforce authority, and the commoners produce.  All tyrants take refuge in Plato when they lose popular consent.
Puram@puram_politics

I guess this is what Plato warned us about.

Sitting in the law school class, I'm just wondering "what even is the point". What are we doing to our society, and who is enabling this. These are learned people, and learned not in education, but in society and they are deliberately giving it all away bc it doesn't affect them.

I don't have any opinion on this budget. In fact, I don’t take this govt seriously anymore. This government is beyond repair and buried too deep in corruption. I'm waiting for 2029. BJP will drop to 120-140 seats from the current 240 seats. UPA 3 with an economist as a PM or a FM is going to be the next policy shift that has to change our future. #Budget2026
