@AnkitFinAlpha Portfolio review once every 2 years is the right timeline for most investors. More frequent = over trading. Less frequent = drift from goals. Also, i feel that Review triggers can be goal based and not return based everytime.

Did some #MutualFund portfolio rebalancing today after procrastinating on it for a long time. It was due in March. Gave enough time for some funds to do well, but I guess the underperformance in some of them may continue. Stopped the existing SIPs. The accumulated units will continue to stay invested. Will check the bookable LTCG March 2026. Added more to other existing performing funds. For active DIY investors, this is an important exercise. Review your portfolio thoroughly once every 2 years and do not clutter it with too many funds. Keep asset allocation in check.

@sc241145 True. I try to keep it simple, but some funds go through long periods of underperformance, so it makes sense to switch. This has been a major shuffle after 3-4 years in the family portfolio. Keeping it simple should be the priority.

@AnkitFinAlpha Not saying this is the only right way but the idea is to have a simple portfolio that can be held for years without interrupting it.

The accumulated units will continue to stay invested while we switch to other fund. This itself clutters the portfolio as we want to not leak taxes which interrupts compounding. Perhaps we could just index the portfolio and hold it for a longer time.

@vsvicky_ @mrmedhq Same. For regular meds I am also using truemeds now. Earlier it was NetMeds but their service quality dropped. What is mentioned above is for cancer and super speciality medicines which are not there in others. It's a niche service but was a life saver that time.

Online platforms are a blessing for the general public. You can order the exact medicine the doctor prescribes, instead of being forced into generic alternatives whose efficacy people often question. I also want to thank platforms like @mrmedhq, which helped me get super-speciality medicines when my grandmother was diagnosed with aplastic anemia. At that time 2022-23, no medical store in Visakhapatnam or Chhattisgarh could arrange the medicine. One person said he could source it from Chennai, but quoted 2x the price and the medicine itself was already ₹26K a month. Then I found MrMed, and they delivered it to my doorstep in a small city in Chhattisgarh. So when such access is opposed, it feels like putting business interests above patient access during some of the most difficult phases of their lives.

IMPORTANT 🚨 Around 8 lakh pharmacies across India will remain shut tomorrow as chemists protest against online medicine sellers.

@JoyfulGiri 💯 Giri. These are add-ons. Main focus are my long term investments and some trading for cash flows. Plus I am in process of setting up another business, not related to financial markets.

Finally the most loved category : #Smallcap Lump sum CAGR looks good on paper, but SIP XIRR shows the actual investor experience. Here is the SIP XIRR comparison of Small Cap funds up to May 18, 2026 : #FinAlpha1Pager Repost and comment down how's your fund doing ? Quick Highlights: 🔹 Short-term: Massive divergence. The Nifty Smallcap 250 TRI flatlined at -0.08% for 1Y, but individual fund SIPs are wildly fragmented ranging from deep double-digit negatives (-11%) to staggering alpha generation above 22%. 🔹 Mid-term: True alpha shines. While the 3Y to 5Y benchmark clocks a healthy 6.5% to 13.6%, elite active small-cap managers are heavily breaking away from the pack to deliver a robust 17% to 22%+ XIRR. 🔹 Long-term: Ultimate wealth compounding. Over 7Y and 10Y horizons, small caps prove why they are the undisputed kings of long-term growth, with the category leaders compounding patient money at an extraordinary 21% to 28%+ XIRR. The massive variance in short-term performance shows just how critical active fund selection and stomach for volatility are in this space. How is your Small Cap SIP holding up against the benchmark ? Full breakdown below. Repost this if you want more such data deep-dives, and drop your questions below ! #MutualFunds #StockMarket #FinAlpha
