99% of what I'm seeing about HOTD season 2 is hate, but as a huge GOT/HOTD/Targaryen fan, I loved it. Yes it's different than the book, and yes I like the changes they made 🤷🏻‍♀️

Made the mistake of going on a reddit thread asking if writers have fat characters in their stories...if you want to be hit over the head with fatphobia so horribly that you feel like you need a drink at 9:00am, I'll send you the link 😑

@AnnFoxAuthor I have a fat FMC! (and guess what! the plot does not revolve around her weight! She simply exists in a fantasy novel as a fat woman! AND her lover romanticises the HELL out of her body. stretch marks, rolls, and all!!!)

@AnnFoxAuthor Yes, in fact, I do. My High Queen is & one of my badass FMCs isn’t a skinny twig either bc I’m learning to love the body I have thru my characters.

@rebecca_linam I understand this to some extent. It's more so when people use fatness to try to convey some negative attribute to the reader that we really stumble into the horrific fatphobia. Or when authors refuse to acknowledge that fat people can be fat and also strong/capable

@AnnFoxAuthor Now that I think about it, I usually don't describe characters' weight unless it's absolutely critical to the plot...which is never in what I've written so far. I leave it up to the reader.

@AnnFoxAuthor I binned Reddit after I saw a thread where man asked if he was unreasonable to leave his wife. Marriage good except wife had gained weight and was not ‘not trying hard enough’ to lose it. She *was* trying, had health condition and young child.Absolutely unanimous - divorce her.

@AnnFoxAuthor Oh no! Body types come in lots of varieties and I have tried to include at least one character with a rounder physique and she's a master in her field and awesome. She doesn't show up until book two, but I love her character.

@AnnFoxAuthor I have a forensic consultant in my cosy mysteries who is like a galleon in full sail. She is magnificent and brainy and patient, and has an operatic taste in clothes. Nobody disses Flo, and the readers love her.
