Potential is a completely different consideration. If all 120 billion people who ever live also trained to run the mile, certainly there would be a percentage who could run faster than the current world record holder-probably thousands. The mile run has a particular fascination for the general public because at one point it was declared impossible to run a four minute mile. When that barrier broken, just like when the sound bar was broken in a jet plane, it inspired others to attempt, and exceeded the “impossible“.

I don’t think people realize how absurd this is. Scottish runner Josh Kerr just broke the mile world record in 3:42.66, an average speed of 16.2 mph. Most people couldn’t even briefly reach that speed, let alone sustain it for an entire mile.

@JoeSaggese @TheFilmBriefHQ @DudespostingWs Correct: Most home treadmills top out at 10–12 mph, so they cannot simulate a 4-minute mile. Higher-end home treadmills may reach 12.5–14 mph. Commercial gym treadmills often go up to 15 mph, and some specialized athletic models can reach 20–25 mph.

Of the approximately 120 billion people who have ever lived on the Earth, Kerr is the fastest one at this distance. Now get on your treadmill and set it for 16 miles an hour (23.5 feet per second) and report back to us how long you lasted. If it’s 30 seconds or more, I would be impressed.

I stopped taking men seriously once I realized they just want the opposite of whatever women want, such reactionary, wayward creatures with no real sense of self but instead a highly honed instinct for whatever will validate their ego the best. Women want to be wives and mothers? Men brand them baby crazy, the old ball and chain dragging them kicking and screaming to the alter, lazy gold diggers that just want a meal ticket. Women say fine, I don’t want to marry someone who doesn’t want to marry me, I’ll pay my own way and focus on career and stop annoying these poor men with my desire for a family. Now men brand women as anti family hateful corporate drone whores The only thing that men truly want is for women to be miserable apparently

I use the word “argument” to mean ‘stating your point of view’. Anyone who is trying to make a point is making an argument- it doesn’t mean he’s trying to start a fight. While I don’t disagree with your POV, I think it was peculiar that you used the word “lust” 3 times snd then added a non sequitur when you said Jesus loved his mother which tempted one pervert to say something vile- which I won’t repeat.

Ken Kesey in his book “One flew over the cuckoo‘s nest, features two sadistic black ‘care givers’ who tease and torture the inmates. It is a low paying job. Proper care begins with hiring people who respect the dignity of all human life and then respecting the caregivers enough to compensate them adequately.

🚨TRAGIC: A 23-year-old nonverbal autistic woman named Aaliyah Fortner was starved and beaten to death inside a North Carolina group home. She weighed just 84 pounds at the time of her death after losing more than 40% of her body weight over six months. Court documents allege her caregiver repeatedly tased her, beat her with objects, broke a broom over her body, and stomped on her head. Aaliyah could not speak and had no way to cry out for help. The state had previously stripped the same caregiver of guardianship over another nonverbal adult, yet still allowed her to run the home and placed Aaliyah there. This is a horrific failure by the system that was supposed to protect the most vulnerable. Say her name: Aaliyah Fortner.

This guy hates Trump and obviously wishes Trump dead. However, Lindsey Graham‘s problem, which is now fairly well known and Trump‘s general health have nothing to do with each other. Trump is nine years older. Senators and congressman may be pampered, but not as much as Trump riding on Air Force One, it’s like being in his living room. He’s not going to be fatigued. He doesn’t have to take a long train ride. Helicopter will take him where he needs to go not the same. This guy just wants Trump to be dead.

Perhaps future evidence will show that women are just as interested in—and just as capable of—engineering, invention, exploration, and high-risk pursuits as men. But throughout recorded history, men have overwhelmingly dominated those fields. You can call that patriarchy if you want, but I think that explanation often reduces a far more complex reality to a slogan. I feel sorry for young women who are pushed toward careers they may not actually want while being told to ignore their own biological imperatives. When people suppress what they believe they are intrinsically drawn to, they end up living by expectation rather than conviction. The saddest case, to me, is the woman who reaches old age with a career, successful or not, but without the close family relationships she may have wanted. There are hundreds of thousands of women like that. Most are good people, and I can’t help wondering whether some were encouraged into a life that was never really theirs.
