A dragon fly appears to help Jude Leonardo, 16, herd horses in Calcasieu Parish as he & his family evacuate their horses with four wheelers as Hurricane Laura approaches on Wed. The family lives 25 miles from the Gulf. Pic by Chris Granger #louisiana #hurricane #HurricaneLaura

How does Laura's 'unsurvivable' potential 20-foot storm surge compare to other Louisiana hurricanes? That and more key info: nola.com/news/hurricane… For perspective: Only 1 Louisiana hurricane in the past half-century caused a surge of more than 15 feet. It's the obvious one.

Would like to see more media coverage of the impending 'Zoom Boom' and the ability of Internet providers/systems to handle it. Lots of organizations are making decisions based on what may be optimistic assumptions.

Good news: river at Carrollton Gauge now expected to crest at 'only' 17 feet. But that's around two feet lower than previous prediction, and three feet lower than max predicated two days ago.
