NEW: A Brazilian woman refused to give up the window seat she PAID for to a crying child… went viral… got blasted online… and now she’s SUING the airline and the passenger who filmed her.
She says the backlash ruined her mental health and career.
Be honest — should she be allowed to sue?
Would you give up your assigned seat to a crying child?
Thoughts? ⬇️ 🇺🇸

@melsorbit @veggie_eric It’s also partly because Duolingo is LATAM Spanish, whereas (not sure where you’re based so this is an assumption) the Spanish you usually hear is European Spanish — I’ve got a Spanish teacher too (Valencia) and some words he’s taught me are different to what I learnt on Duolingo
English

@MaryAnnsIsle @melsorbit @veggie_eric Does duolingo use ‘Mexican’ Spanish - I did 350 days and also used google translate and some words were definitely different
English

@melsorbit @veggie_eric My experience exactly. I love Duolingo, but I can’t listen & convert to English at the rate Spanish is generally spoken. I can read pretty well, tho and I’m going to keep at it. They also have a podcast and I listen to Simple Stories in Spanish podcast to get practice listening

@evrisupportline How do I get compensation for an undelivered parcel that you have lost?

@NormanBrennan So France is a safe country ! How come Greece as part of the EU can send asylum seekers back
English

@JasonDa28977361 @mikeerwydd1968 If they’re claiming asylum because they’re fleeing trouble or war torn places, wouldn’t they have brought their family with them? Is it ok to leave them behind to suffer? Or are they all just economic migrants?
English

I'm not defending illegal immigration but the answer is pretty obvious if you think about it. It is a long and hard journey to get here with no certainty that they can get to stay, so the men come first and leave the woman and children at home. Once their asylum claim is processed and they are settled then they are legally allowed to bring their direct family over.
So it's not an invasion of fighting men as some narratives will assume but rather entire families.

@banbadmen Get rid of the eyebrows for a start and the heavy make up.

@sappholives83 Most of us go to the loo to pass water, not parade around posing for selfies!

@FootballHPV @MrTCHarris Apparently the uk is 81% white , and I suppose some of those in the 19% may not listen to the kind of music played at Glastonbury, or they don’t do camping!!
English

@MrTCHarris Now my turn.
There seems to be something of an under-representation of white people at the Notting Hill carnival, apart from in uniform. I noticed this in previous years too. What's the reason for this?
English

@WingsScotland Why did they need to know anything about your personal life?
Surely it’s none of their business , why did you feel the need to tell them?
English

@EnglishLaydee @kelvmackenzie @smithfreel If they come here without any papers/passport how do they get out and back in the country? Never mind affording the air fare
English

@kelvmackenzie @smithfreel It’s way past time that asylum seekers who leave the country to go back to their countries for a holiday were refused asylum. Absolutely ludicrous that they return and continue claiming they need asylum.
