This is the story of my family, and of my Mom -- who we lost to cancer when I was 13 years old. Her courage and resilience inspires me to be brave, and to fight for Florida families. Her story hasn't ended, but it’s up to us to write the next chapter. We start in November. #HD47

State economists have developed city-by-city estimates of the fallout from Amendment 3, the proposed constitutional amendment that would drastically cut and cap property taxes in Florida. The city of Orlando, for instance, would lose ~$100 million in annual revenue by year 5.

Lots of unmarked and GEO Group transport vehicles going into the Miramar ICE building today. The facility is being used as a make shift detention site, where dozens of people are detained in overcrowded rooms for days past the legally allowed time limit.

Psyop attacks headed towards Byron Donalds and Jay Collins? Eight new political committees - most with names that seem intentionally designed to trigger certain segments of voters - were just formed in Florida by the same person.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit struck down the higher-education provisions of the "Stop WOKE Act", a classroom-censorship law in Florida that severely restricted educators’ ability to freely teach in schools and workplaces. My statement: annaforflorida.com/2026/07/07/fed…

State Board of Education Meeting is meeting via conference call to ban undocumented students from being able to attend our state colleges. This is unconstitutional, and 100% of the public commentary is AGAINST this decision. They limited our public comment to 1 minute each.

NEW: After spending the last year talking about cutting property taxes, DeSantis says he won't campaign for the amendment on the ballot this fall. He said it's because the amendment was changed by the Legislature: tampabay.com/news/florida-p…

Today, the Orlando City Council will vote on a 3-year change to downtown's historic preservation rules. Sharing the letter we sent to the Mayor and Council two weeks ago, when this was first discussed. The response we received was: "We are in receipt of your letters."

@DampFrijoles @citybeautiful A new Mayor can repeal the moratorium, but in the interim, there must be a continued presence at the Municipal Planning Board and Council Meetings to protect historic buildings. Without the guardrail of the Preservation Board, everyday people will have to step in 2/

@AnnaForFlorida I am resigned to the idea that the @citybeautiful City Council is going to pass the vote to allow the destruction of historic buildings. Assuming it passes, is there anything that can be done to prevent those buildings from being torn down?

And this is one of many reasons as to why it’s a bad idea to spend more than a billion of Florida’s emergency response funds on detention centers like Alligator Alcatraz. You eventually need those funds on emergency response, like combatting wildfires.

The Florida Turnpike’s southbound lanes are shut down near Doral as crews fight fire with fire. They’re doing a backburn while winds and the weather are predictable, which will leave less fuel for the main fire. Scary for those nearby, but necessary firefighting tactics.
