@michaeladdidle @iscm_micro Brought in criteria a few years ago to limit PUA to moderate to severe pneumonia. Have saved thousands++. And still v unusual to get a positive even in CAP admitted to ITU. Also not uncommon to have neg PUA despite pos blood culture. Time to get rid of PUA??

@iscm_micro Interesting, never thought about this test from a diagnostic stewardship point of view. Developing clinical acceptance criteria for Strep pneumoniae urinary antigen testing is on my to-do list for Monday.

Expensive test, does it provide any value? CAP most likely due to S.pneumo, is there any value in performing a test with low sensitivity? How often does it actually influence management (whether positive or negative)?
