Not sure why people are shocked that the establishment isn't condoning an inherently anti-establishment act of protest? Surely that's the point...

@JayHulmePoet People who aren't even Christian have said to me how bizarre it is, because they see how much of a community hub it is alongside the cafe. Aside from the Cathedral, it's one of the most visible signs of Christian presence in the city centre.

It's a funny thing being a priest/organiser/pain-in-the-arse deeply committed to presence in areas of urban injustice, while simultaneously being someone with a deep dislike for urban environments. Every time I visit the City of London it makes me feel spiritually ill.
