I’m 46 and have worked in DC for 26 years. During that time, I’ve met and befriended many women in high-level careers. Not one has ever told me she chose her career over marriage. In fact, all of them were trying to find a husband. The idea that Millennial or Gen X women broadly chose careers over marriage—at least anecdotally—just isn’t true.

@commiebodyhider @AConcernedPare2 @BeverlyHallberg If you’re going for traditional, we should be advocating for strong marriages… not merely getting married for getting married sakes we are far too many. People marrying compatible partners so that children can thrive in those environments.

@SmalllIvy @AConcernedPare2 @BeverlyHallberg Maybe there should be a discussion about the men that allow that -that treat women like objects that treat them for short term options. It’s not just women having sex with short-term reasons. Men are participating as well.

@AnneByTheBeach @AConcernedPare2 @BeverlyHallberg What individual women do doesn't really matter. But what the system/culture causes does matter. The modern "everyone sleeps around and women act like men culture" is causing the end of western civilization as few babies are being born. Will be wiped out in 20 or 30 years.

@AConcernedPare2 @BeverlyHallberg Either women are opting out or there are less and less eligible men. It is important for women to be mindful about the men that they choose to marry and be the father of their children. If the quality of the men available even in the younger years is less that will affect it.

@AnneByTheBeach @BeverlyHallberg The issue is two fold. A declining fertility rate is bad for society. Secondly, the unintentional childless rate for women over 40 is climbing. As this rate goes up, it's important to look at root causes and try to avoid this.

@DeplorableFJB @BeverlyHallberg Men also have fragmented sperm as they get older. That increase the miscarriage and still birth rates. That’s a choice that men are making when they’re having children older as society we should be concerned about that due to less children .

@JoelHil71212525 @BeverlyHallberg I don’t see men that way and I think that’s very strange. That society doesn’t view men as necessary. Strong men are necessary. Good fathers are necessary. They build societies.

@AnneByTheBeach @BeverlyHallberg Because society, as a whole, has decided that men are completely disposable. There's nuance in there, but, in general, maleness itself is vilified and seen as toxic, and men are seen as easily replaceable, even by the state itself.

@AConcernedPare2 @BeverlyHallberg I just think it’s strange why people care so much about why women or rather some women aren’t having children. It doesn’t matter some people are not going to have children for a variety of reasons.

@faithful776903 @BeverlyHallberg And a man in his 40s runs the risk of fragmented sperm increasing the potential for stillbirths and miscarriages. but sure some of them could probably produce a healthy child. A man waiting until his 40s to have a child is there a question of his inability to commit?

If a man doesn’t end up married, his chances of having children are less, unless he’s fine having a bunch of out of wedlock pregnancies with various levels of child support. Women do need to be picky about the men they wish to be the father of their children, children need their mother when they are very young and would be hard to leave a bad marriage with young kids.

@AnneByTheBeach @BeverlyHallberg Easy. Women can only have kids when young, and it's much harder the older you get. Women are much pickier, so it's usually the girl who says no to romantic suitors and not the other way around. No one cares enough about men to worry if they ended up unmarried.

@RandyClarkBBTX The message should never be if you manage to camp out in this country for years and decades in violation of immigration laws some administration will give you a path to citizenship.

You're going to hear the debate over the Dignity Act being framed as a legitimate rift inside the Republican party. It's not, it's a debate between real conservatives and a few liberals who call themselves Republicans. Anyone supporting this amnesty so soon after we just brought the border under control is unconcerned the economic consequences on taxpayers by illegal immigration. The dignity act is amnesty plain and simple, it would expand the DACA class (around 500K) to include an additional 2 million for those under 19 illegally present before Jan 2021. The dreamers were left behind by the Democrats when President Trump offered them relief during his first term in exchange for border wall funding. They were dropped like a hot potato. This isn't about solving illegal immigration. It's about cleaning the slate and starting from zero all over again. Don't be fooled.

@OANN Illegal immigration is not some time served situation. If someone manages to break the law (s) for years and decades, you don’t reward them and yet with illegal immigration that’s what some people in elected office wish to do.

“I meet so many farmers that have illegal immigrants that have worked for them for 15, 20 years. They work well and how is it going to affect our economy by having all of these illegals deported… We have to find a balance.” Florida Congressional candidate @OlaHawatmeh breaks down the Dignity Act—noting the economic impact of deporting illegal aliens who have lived and worked in America for decades. It's not so much that Millennial and Gen X women consciously choose careers over marriage. It's that the choices they make (and are encouraged to make) make marriage less likely. Case in point: moving to D.C., where the men are sociopaths or homosexuals or both.

@michaeljknowles Gen X here, finding someone you wish to share your life is either a matter of numbers or luck, not everyone finds someone they wish to marry unfortunately. It’s better to not increase the divorce rates.

@varrock Not to mention that it sets the expectation that one can commit additional crimes in this country without penalty as long as you are in the country unlawfully… a courtesy that American citizens don’t receive.

If illegal immigration is never prosecuted unless the immigrant has also committed another serious crime, then all immigration is de facto legal and we have no borders. Mass amnesty every 10 years erodes the sovereignty of the USA and destroys the meaning of "American"
