@Davidjsalter @ktboldy I love my little hedge sparrows. Such cheerful little birds! They express themselves quite loudly if I’m late putting out their seeds!

@johnkinsella52 @TheRealLeoBrown I’m grateful for you posting your work. And yes, your paintings bring a welcome respite from all the dark stuff. 🙂

@ktboldy How beautiful England is. I was born in Shropshire, at RAF Cosford. 🥰

April Love
Whenever we set off on a long journey these days, I refuse to take the motorway. Instead, I deliberately choose the winding rural country lanes. Returning from Manchester yesterday, we drove through the beautiful counties of Shropshire and Sataffordshire
Turning the drive itself into part of the adventure makes all the difference. There’s something magical about taking in the scenery, especially at this time of year, when the golden rapeseed fields stretch out like a glowing sea under the sun, brightening up the countryside even on dull cloudy days.
And that beautiful crop will eventually become the cooking oil we use every day. Nature really is amazing, isn’t it?

@ktboldy Thank you for sharing this Keith. Such a terrifying yet inspiring story. All the best to you both x

"The Angel That Arrived on the Darkest Day"
Today marks the fifth anniversary of the day my wife Chris collapsed with encephalitis.
She was on the phone with her sister, chatting normally, when she suddenly fell unconscious to the floor. I called an ambulance straight away, and one arrived within minutes. But her condition was so serious that she wasn’t breathing. The paramedics called for a second ambulance with extra help. After thirty tense minutes, they took her away in the first ambulance, blue lights flashing and siren blaring. As it sped off, I was gripped with the fear that I might never see her again.
At this point, we go back three months earlier, I had ordered a 2ft, (60 cm) tall “Angel” resin statue for the garden. The delivery had taken so long that I had completely forgotten about it.
That same afternoon, while Chris was fighting for her life, the postman delivered a parcel. Inside was an angel statue, but not the one I had ordered. It was only about a quarter of the size and in a completely different pose. Every time I see it, I think it's going to the toilet.
I’ve kept that little angel ever since, because it arrived on the exact day I thought I was going to lose the love of my life.
I’m not a religious man, nor am I particularly superstitious. Yet that small angel has always meant the world to me. There’s something weird and wonderful about the timing. Chris survived that terrifying ordeal, and in my heart, despite everything I believe or don’t believe, I can’t help wondering if the angels really were looking after her that day.
Who am I to say they didn’t?
Five years on, life looks very different. The encephalitis was followed by dementia, and Chris is no longer quite the person she once was. The woman I fell in love with has changed in many ways. But she’s still here. We’re still here. And together we continue to make new memories, different ones, gentler ones, but memories all the same.
That little angel statue still sits in our home, a quiet reminder of hope arriving when we needed it most. It reminds me that even on the darkest days, something unexpected and kind can still find its way to your door.
If you’re going through something similar, a sudden health crisis, a frightening diagnosis, or the long, lonely road of caring for someone you love, I believe that miracles don’t always arrive with fanfare and bright lights. Sometimes, they come in a small, imperfect package delivered by an ordinary postman on the worst day of your life.
And sometimes, that’s enough.

I think my daughter has a talent for photography and would be interested in feedback as to if that opinion is shared She is unable to work currently due to fibromyalgia and wonder if she may earn an income from her hobby #Springblooms #Naturephotography #Naturemoments #redfox
