🌟 This week, we welcomed our latest work experience stars! 🌟 Shoutout to Chaya and Lee from Coleg y Cymoedd who joined us for an exciting week of hands-on experience! They spent time on the shop floor learning from our skilled operators, getting stuck into real-world tasks, and also dedicated sessions in our Academy sharpening their skills. Both of them seemed to really enjoy the experience, we hope it's given them a great insight into our world of manufacturing/engineering! Wishing Chaya and Lee the very best of luck with the rest of their course. Thanks for choosing us, you were a pleasure to have around!

Our @MakeUK_ awards have found their home in our Academy 🏆🏆🏆🏆 A week on and we're still buzzing with excitement!! Only a 4% chance of this exact outcome and we beat the odds!🍀 After winning Developing Future Talent and SME of the Region at the Wales level last November, we proudly represented our nation at the national gala dinner at the iconic Madame Tussauds last week and came away with: 🥈 SME of the Year (National Runner-up) 🥈 Developing Future Talent (National Runner-up) This double achievement is a huge testament to the dedication, innovation, and people-first culture of the entire Philtronics Team. A massive thank you to our staff and everyone who’s supported us! Here’s to continuing to invest in people, push boundaries, and make Welsh manufacturing proud!

A massive shoutout to our team 🙌 also to all the shortlisted apprentices and businesses from the five regions across the UK who joined us last night. Reaching the national finals is an amazing accomplishment in itself — winner or not, you’ve all shown what dedication, innovation, and hard work look like. 👏 The future of UK manufacturing is bright because of people like you! And a special congratulations to our fellow Welsh business Airbond Splicers, who took home the win in the Energy and Sustainability category — fantastic achievement and well deserved! 🇬🇧🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 Great to see Welsh manufacturing shining so brightly on the national stage. Exciting news from Hirwaun! 📚 Today, we were proud to deliver copies of "Girls Can Engineer" to Hirwaun Primary School, in partnership with Enginuity. This special initiative is all about raising awareness of engineering careers among young girls, helping to close the skills gap in manufacturing and engineering (where women still make up just 16% of the UK workforce), and championing diversity in STEM. What makes this donation even more special? We've been able to customise the books with our very own female ambassador, Kayleigh, who joined Philtronics 15 years ago with no prior electronics experience and has grown into an inspiring trainer. The pupils met Kayleigh in person, so seeing her featured as a real-life role model in the book brings everything to life and shows them that these careers are truly within reach! At Philtronics, we're committed to making a lasting impact in our local community. With our 50/50 male-to-female workforce, 7 apprentices, and awards for Developing Future Talent, we are passionate about creating opportunities and nurturing the next generation of innovators right here on our doorstep. Let's inspire more girls to see themselves as future engineers!

Big congratulations to our apprentices Cai and Ben on achieving their IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification! 👏 In just 15 months with us, alongside their college course, they have thrived under the guidance and mentoring of our experienced team. They are aiming to smash £1 million for life-changing mental health support. What's the challenge?
