Listen, I barely have time to deal with this social media site, let alone all the others, but I’m glad for friends who send me screenshots so that we can be sure to affirm that yes, we should definitely take things like this as literally and reductively as possible. This is very wise of us to do. Another example of a thing we should take as literally and reductively as possible includes the thing that has been paraphrased as Winnicott saying, “There is no such thing as a baby.” What Winnicott was suggesting with that one, clearly, is that babies literally do not exist. Babies are a cultural myth and delusion, and if you believe otherwise, you may be psychotic. Let’s continue not to use our brains whatsoever when we read or learn about shit, let’s just give our kneejerk reactions to things, always. This is the way. 👍
