Because US already has facilities to handle such diseases at home. No one is proposing to fly Ebola patients from the United States to Kenya for quarantine. The facility is intended for American researchers, aid workers, and response personnel already operating in or near the outbreak zone in eastern DRC and neighbouring areas. If exposure occurs, it makes more sense to isolate and monitor them within the region than to attempt a complex medical evacuation over 12,000 kilometres across continents. The facility will be staffed by American personnel and operate under strict containment protocols. In fact, it is entirely possible that the Ebola outbreak is contained without a single patient ever needing to be quarantined in Kenya. The bigger question is what Kenya gains. We gain preparedness, equipment, training, surveillance capacity, and stronger systems for handling dangerous infectious diseases. Given our porous borders and regional movement, Ebola reaching Kenya is not an impossible scenario. If that happens, the infrastructure, expertise, and preparedness built today will benefit Kenyans tomorrow. The government deserves criticism for poor communication and lack of transparency. But opposing every proposal simply because it comes from government or from the United States is not serious policy thinking. The relevant question is whether the risks are manageable and whether the benefits outweigh them. In this case, there is a strong argument that they do.

Luos are known for excelling in carpentry, mechanics, masonry, and welding, not necessarily by choice, but largely due to limited opportunities under previous administrations. President Ruto is the first leader to genuinely accommodate the Luo community in government.

I’m curious: Did Moi ever bother about how the country was being run after handing power to Kibaki in 2002? Did he involve himself into local politics? When Kibaki retired in 2013, did he ever bother criticising Uhuru’s government, or did he just quietly retire in Othaya? PNU basically died because Kibaki didn’t want anything to do with politics after 2013. So my question is: Why is Uhuru so obsessed with local politics? He was President for ten years ,our debt skyrocketed, police brutality was rampant, we had the River Yala Massacre, the killing of NASA supporters, and many other atrocities under his watch. When fuel prices shot up, he nearly cried asking if he was responsible, while billions were being lost daily. CBC was forced down our throats, among other things. Why is he now so bothered about how the country is being ruled when most of the problems we’re facing today started during his tenure? Why not just retire peacefully like Moi and Kibaki?

Wewe ukitoka uliwacha unga ikiwa 250/-. Don’t you ask yourself what miracle Ruto performed to lower it? During your tenure, we witnessed long fuel queues as people lined up to buy high priced fuel, selective amnesia is what you suffer from! You have no moral authority to advice our beloved President.

What has an entire community done to William Ruto to deserve this ethnic attacks by his mouthpieces UDA Secretary General Omar Hassan and Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen? We know Ruto hates Agíkúyù to his heart; himself has verbalised his toxicity. Big mistake! 446 days to go! #TumainiLiko #TuokoeKenya #FagiaWakoraWote #RutoMustGo

I believe Riggy G will be our flag bearer. And if he is not on the ballot, I’l not vote. Here are my 3 reasons: 1. I don’t believe there’s currently anyone else who can beat Ruto except Gachagua. 2. I don’t see anyone else in the opposition who can help economically emancipate our people. (Especially Farmers). 3. I can’t wake up to go and hand over power to people who openly tell us ‘you are not an option’. I’d rather sleep.
