Negeri Sembilan's Council of Customary Chieftains has rejected the appointment of Faris Johari as the new Undang Luak Sungei Ujong, saying it is invalid under customary law. It said the selection of an Undang requires unanimous consent from both the Klana Hulu and Klana Hilir Ibu Soko lineages, approval from all legitimate customary chiefs, and a formal declaration by the Datuk Shahbandar, none of which were met. 🧵1

National broadcaster RTM has come under fire from PAS after its TV2 channel aired a cartoon series called “Cleopatra in Space”, which allegedly contained an LGBTQ+ element. In a statement, PAS ulama wing chief Ahmad Yahaya questioned how the government-owned television station selects its content. He said this was the second time such an issue had occurred, after RTM aired an animated series last year called “Santiago of the Seven Seas”, which also allegedly contained similar elements.
