I need to give props to the marketing team of Crimson Desert. They actually never really lied about the game and its features. Even the performance, which I was the most skeptical about, is actually fine. I swear, I was sure this game would run like absolute dog poop, but no. The optimization is actually fine. Could it be better? Sure, I could use some more frames, but it's fine. They told you what to expect from the game, and they delivered what they said they would. Which is even more baffling when you see so many people expecting things from the game that the devs never said it would have. And far worse, expecting things from the game that the devs actually told you it WOULD NOT have.

The removals of dead late-gestational-age foetuses, of which sadly there are ofc many, are not and have never been counted among the late term abortions performed (which are rare).

(Obviously, late stage abortions ONLY occur in situations where the fetus is not viable or the mother is at serious risk of fatality and injury.) I find these posts very revealing of the ignorance of the anti-abortion lobby. No woman feels 'empowered' by having to have an abortion after 9 months of carrying her child. It's not something anyone does because they didn't get round to ending a pregnancy for nearly a year. The biggest category for late stage abortions? When the fetus has died and is septic, or the mother is a child and unable to safely give birth or undergo caesarean. This is a far right fantasy of the 'monstrous corrupt woman'.

@ATLienRoc @malphier They're both a sim in this sense. Crimson Desert is absolutely not arcade. It has the same deliberate feeling to everything that rdr2 has. You commit to every movement and action.

@malphier Inspired in what way? In that it's also an open world game? "Feel and pacing"? One is an arcade hack and slash, the other is a realsim based sim. They don't "feel" remotely similar. Different setting, different physics, NPCs and immersiveness on totally different levels, etc.

You should play Crimson Desert if you really like the pacing and exploration aspects of Red Dead Redemption 2. Just don't go expecting the same narrative focus. It has none. If you're the type of person who likes to play RDR2 for the exploration, if you like to "live in the world" and take it slow, like those people who do jobs, hunt, bounties and stuff and take their time, if you like to greet people on the streets and you intentionally walk slowly just to act like a normal person, you're gonna have a blast with the game.
