"There’s Gotta Be Something Better Than This" from Sweet Charity (1969) is Bob Fosse’s unusually grandiose and exuberant film number. Shirley MacLaine, Chita Rivera and Paula Kelly dance across a rooftop with a sense of liberation that inevitably recalls rooftop scenes in other musicals, especially "America" from West Side Story. No wonder! Fosse came up in a theatrical world profoundly shaped by Jerome Robbins, whose influence can be felt across generations of choreographers. The resemblance may say less about plagiarism than about a shared Broadway heritage. Fosse's angular movement, comic bite and bittersweet sensibility ultimately make the number unmistakably his own, interpreted by such awesome dancers. #SweetCharity #BobFosse #ShirleyMacLaine

Another woman had her phone's flashlight on repeatedly, and a server spoke at full volume to customers whenever items were brought out. Also, an LED light at the front of the screen stayed on through the movie, casting a green glow on the screen. Canceling my pass, won't be back.

Everything you've read about @alamodrafthouse in the news is sadly true, based on my experience last night at @AlamoNYC. The screen wasn't masked at all throughout the entirety of @obsessionmovie, people were consistently on their phones & one guy was even recording the movie!
