Swedish TV Investigation (2017): Uppdrag Granskning reported on four SSPX clerics (three priests and a former seminarian) accused of abusing at least a dozen minors across countries (France, Germany, Australia, etc.). It alleged the SSPX kept evidence secret and allowed some to continue in ministry.
Kansas Investigation (2020–2023):
The Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) probed abuse claims involving SSPX communities (e.g., St. Mary’s in St. Marys, KS, with its school and large traditionalist population). The report referred cases to prosecutors, identifying suspects among clergy. No charges resulted in some instances due to statutes of limitations, but it highlighted allegations of perpetration and cover-up
Individual Convictions/Admissions:
Fr. Arnaud Rostand (former U.S./Canada district superior) admitted in 2024 to sexual offenses against minors in France (2003–2018). The SSPX removed him from active ministry earlier but faced criticism for the timeline.

This may seriously be the worst Catholic X account (and that’s saying something).
No matter what you think about the SSPX, they don’t “hate” the pope, and they literally pray for him in every single Mass, which only a few minutes of exposure to the Society reveals.

What’s the point of a meeting when they’ve made so clear they have no intention to even dialogue? What practical purpose would it serve?
Wouldn’t it be an absurdity for the Pope to do a vacuous photo opt with the guy who’s being fragrantly disobedient & has already made clear he can’t be persuaded?
It doesn’t make sense, but it’s the kind of emotional talking point they hope you won’t think deeply about & that’s why they weaponize it for propaganda

Pope Leo XIV one day before the consecrations, finally responds to the SSPX. The Society has been trying to meet with him for over one year without any success. These are things that genially make me mad about the state of Catholicism. The Pope will meet with political leaders, atheists, pro-trans activists, leaders of false religions, members of small religious orders that no one has ever heard of, and all the while talks about Unity. But when Traditionalists seek to meet with him, it is a nigh impossible up hill battle. This happening on this day clearly shows to the world the Vatican is interested in Politics over theology at every turn. I am so tired of the Vatican, and the people covering up for this nonsense. I appreciate that the Holy Father is acting as a father here, making clear what he is forbidding, and urging his children to avoid that path. I pray the SSPX leadership would stand down.
Also, it looks like he will be rescinding SSPX faculties for confessions and marriages.
