In Franca, São Paulo (Brazil), the car of an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion caught fire and was completely destroyed. This moving event from July 2018 reminds us of the living faith of the Church: Jesus is truly, really, and substantially present in the Blessed Sacrament (CCC 1374). Throughout history, God has given similar signs, the Eucharist surviving fire, to strengthen our belief in His Real Presence. The image below shows exactly this: the preserved pyx with the Host, the prayer card, and the cloth amid the ashes. A visible testimony that "the gates of hell shall not prevail" against the Church and the Eucharist. "I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live forever."
