Democrats want to keep violent criminals on the streets. Thankfully, under President Trump and AG Bondi’s leadership, that won’t happen. Crime is down across the board.

What I saw was an ICE vehicle attempting to leave an area that was in a near riot condition, a civilian vehicle then suddenly moved in front of it to block its departure. I then saw an ICE officer approach that vehicle and issue a lawful order to the driver to get out of the car. Instead of complying with that order, the driver backed up, pointed the car in the direction of another officer, and then shifted into drive, stepping on the gas while an officer had his hand on the door then accelerated in the direction of the other ICE officer at the moment he fired into the vehicle. That’s what the video shows, and we all have eyes and we all can see it. There are a lot of questions that it raises, starting with the perspective of the officer who fired at this approaching vehicle. Was the car indeed pointed directly at him when he fired? It certainly appeared that way to me from the video we’ve seen. I assume the officer was wearing a body camera and we’ll get a better idea of his perspective in the course of the investigation. There’s the question of why the driver attempted to block the ICE vehicle as it was leaving, why the driver felt motivated to obstruct clearly uniformed federal law enforcement officers in the performance of their duties, why she willfully refused to comply with a lawful order by those officers, and why she pointed her vehicle toward another officer while hitting the gas. I suspect that a great deal of motivation was exactly from the kind of incendiary rhetoric we hear everyday from our radical democratic colleagues. It is a direct attack on the rule of law. Our ICE officers are enforcing federal law as the Congress wrote it. The Democrats here don’t like that law, they object to its enforcement, and they are actively encouraging citizens to obstruct its enforcement. In a nation of laws, the answer is not to obstruct the law, but to change it. We’re sitting in the very institution that writes these laws. If they believe the laws that enforce our nations sovereignty are wrong? Then they should make the case to change them. And Ms. Ross, I point out that when the Democrats had the majority and our nation was suffering through the worst illegal mass migration in its history, the immigration subcommittee under Democratic control held not a single hearing on that crisis as it unfolded, not one. I suspect their encouragement of disobedience to the law had a large role to play in the mind of the driver and in the minds of the increasingly violent mobs that our colleagues are deliberately inciting. As Lincoln said to their predecessors, “There is no grievance is a fit object for redress by mob law.” How sad the same words need to be repeated here. Before the House Judiciary Committee that’s supposed to be dedicated to the rule of law.

We are living through a moment where a group of people do not just disagree, they do not even acknowledge a shared fundamental reality. There is no common frame of reference, no mutual set of facts from which discourse can even begin. They can watch the same video, from multiple angles, and walk away convinced they saw a completely different event. They exist inside a narrative so deeply entrenched that to question it, to even acknowledge a contradiction, is to commit some sort of ideological treason. This is a deliberate, conditioned immunity to contradiction. It is a cultivated resistance to evidence. They have developed a mind so thoroughly welded to its chosen reality that it will alter, discard, or fabricate whatever it must to maintain coherence. They can be shown, in real time, the unraveling of their worldview, and they will patch over the holes with fantasy rather than face any doubt whatsoever. Politics has turned knowledge itself into a partisan weapon. The expectation is no longer to seek truth, but to defend your team at all costs. There is a lingering obligation to have an opinion on everything, to be informed at all times, to adopt the correct stance. And so, they improvise. They adopt prefabricated opinions handed down by their faction. They fill in the gaps with instinctive loyalty rather than demonstrating any semblance of independent thought. The game is rigged, and they know it. Two parties, two choices, two sides that everyone is herded into, and neither is worth the loyalty demanded of them. But to acknowledge this would be to admit powerlessness, to admit that they are trapped in an illusion of choice. So they cope. They retroactively justify their allegiance by turning their side into something righteous, infallible, and necessary. The alternative is too terrifying. It is a coping mechanism turned mass psychosis. And it is escalating. When reality itself is dictated by allegiance, when loyalty outranks reason, when every fact must be bent into submission to fit the tribe’s chosen narrative, the outcome is inevitable: war. When factions exist in separate realities, they cannot coexist. They cannot negotiate, they cannot reason, they cannot even comprehend the other side as anything but a threat. This is irreconcilable. We cannot function like this. A society cannot sustain itself when its people are no longer individuals but ideological husks, possessed by abstractions, fighting battles for masters who do not even know their names. You are not your faction. You are not your party. You are not an extension of a collective mind. The moment you outsource your thinking, the moment you allow yourself to believe that your side must be right because the alternative is unbearable, you have ceased to be an individual. You have become another interchangeable pawn in a game that does not need you to think, only to obey. Wake up. This war for reality is not one you want to be drafted into.

President Dwight D. Eisenhower deployed the military to compel Democrats to stop violating federal law — as set forth in ONE Supreme Court decision. He didn’t wait for federal agents to be hospitalized, hit with shovels, injured with projectiles, their vehicles vandalized, and streets blocked for weeks on end to send in federal troops. State officials and private citizens were acting as if federal law didn’t apply to them. That was enough. Eisenhower explained that “[c]ertain misguided persons, have insisted upon defying the law,” and unless the president intervened, “anarchy will result.” The “interest of the nation in the proper fulfillment of the law’s requirements cannot yield to opposition and demonstrations by some few persons.” He invoked his authority under the Constitution and the Insurrection Act to command all those impeding enforcement of the law to cease, desist, and disperse. They did not, so the very next day, Eisenhower sent 1,000 soldiers with the 101st Airborne to Little Rock ... TRUMP SHOULD BE LIKE IKE! anncoulter.com/2026/01/22/rel…

The arrest of Maduro has advanced both the cause of justice and freedom in the Western hemisphere and revived the Monroe Doctrine for our national security. It is an astounding tactical success of American armed forces and a testament to the decisiveness and resolve of President Trump and his advisors. The contrast between American socialists protesting Maduro’s ouster with the jubilation of ordinary Venezuelans celebrating their deliverance speaks for itself. The federal courts have consistently upheld this use of military force by Presidents over many years and I believe the President has acted within these legal precedents. Nevertheless, in calmer times I believe that Congress will need to clarify and re-assert its preeminent constitutional role before military action is initiated.

Prop. 50 has unfortunately brought gerrymandering back to California. But a silver lining is it also calls on Congress to establish independent redistricting nationwide. I'm working on legislation to make this a reality and end gerrymandering for good. npr.org/2025/11/05/nx-…
