There is an interesting NYT piece today about how the U.S. Army is using a 400-mile Arctic training zone near Fairbanks to test how soldiers from warmer states operate in temperatures as low as −40°F. It reminds me of an earlier, far darker effort to answer a similar question. Nazi doctors at the Dachau concentration camp ran freezing experiments during World War II to determine how long downed Luftwaffe pilots could survive in extreme cold. SS Dr. Sigmund Rascher led the experiments in which prisoners were forced into vats of ice water for many hours. Many died agonizing deaths. Others were permanently injured. What’s less well known is what happened after the war. I have written about Operation Paperclip, in which the U.S.—in one of its most shameful and morally compromised postwar programs—gave safe haven to some Nazis in exchange for information. American military and scientific officials studied the Dachau hypothermia data. It was analyzed, written up, and for a time even considered useful for aviation survival—how to revive pilots pulled from freezing water. In the early Cold War years, the urgency of survival research blurred the moral lines. But the science itself didn’t hold up. Later reviews found the data riddled with inconsistencies and fabrication. By the late 20th century, it was widely rejected—not just as unethical, but as unreliable. Today, no credible scientific community accepts those findings. Still, it is a vivid example that even in the aftermath of atrocity, the temptation to extract “useful” knowledge can override good judgment. It is a line that history shows is very easy to cross.

These scumbags are planning to protest outside a Jewish children’s school in Manhattan today. Not City Hall. Not a government building. A SCHOOL. With little kids. This is 10 minutes from where the Mayor is staying. Ten minutes. Because of this garbage, kids are being sent home early. Parents are being told come get your children & cancel after-school programs. For their safety.

May 4–5 – On This Day in Holocaust History 1939—Hungary enacts anti-Jewish laws restricting Jews in professions such as law and medicine and limiting their participation in the economy to 6%, forcing many out of livelihoods and accelerating economic exclusion. ⸻ 1942—More than 10,000 Jews are deported from the Łódź Ghetto to the Chełmno extermination camp, where most are murdered upon arrival. These deportations are part of the early phase of systematic killing operations in occupied Poland. ——In the Łódź Ghetto, some Jews commit suicide to avoid deportation, reflecting the terror and desperation as rumors of mass killings spread. ——The Sobibór extermination camp becomes operational, equipped with gas chambers using carbon monoxide from engine exhaust. ⸻ 1944—SS officials under Heinrich Himmler propose the so-called “Jews for trucks” negotiations with the Western Allies. The plan, widely seen as deceptive, occurs as preparations intensify for the deportation of Hungarian Jews to Auschwitz.

Two Molotov cocktail attacks in under a week on Jewish institutions in La Plata, Argentina. First the Israelite Literary Center and Max Nordau Library — windows shattered by firebombs. Then Chabad Lubavitch. Argentine Jews are living in fear again. @JMilei has been good on speaking out against antisemitism and standing strong for Israel. He must lead an iron-fisted response to this violence. Impunity breeds more attacks. Stop these Jew-haters now. algemeiner.com/2026/05/04/mol… #Antisemitism #Argentina

What a crushing disappointment Giorgia Meloni has been as Italy’s Prime Minister. Another Holocaust memorial — stumbling stones in Turin — viciously vandalized. This is pure hatred, not “protest.” Jews deported to death camps desecrated again… and where is the fierce leadership we were promised? Empty words while Italian Jews live in fear. #Antisemitism #Italy #HolocaustMemorial #Meloni jns.org/news/world/hol…

Jew haters can’t even leave our ghosts in peace. My father had a kosher tailor’s shop on Brick Lane when the East End was alive with Jewish immigrant life. It was not far the now shuttered East London Central Synagogue on Nelson St. Although that synagogue is closed and the site is up for sale for over a year, its stone etching over the entry is the reminder of what it was. That’s evidently enough for Jew haters to try and burn it down. They want the erasure of Jewish London. When does it end? #Antisemitism #EastEnd #LondonJews jewishnews.co.uk/counter-terror…

Germany’s largest mosque network, DITIB, is under fire AGAIN — hosting speakers who glorify Hamas terrorists as “martyrs,” call Jews a “cursed community” that drowns the world in blood, and spread vile antisemitic caricatures. Even after removing four due to backlash, two Jew-haters remain on stage for their “family-friendly” event. How many times must this happen before Germany admits what’s fueling the explosion of antisemitism in its mosques and on its streets? Imported hatred has no place in Europe. Shut it down. algemeiner.com/2026/05/04/ger… #Antisemitism #Germany

Taxpayer-funded Texas waterpark announces “Muslims Only” day with modest dress code & halal rules. Imagine the meltdown if it was “Jews Only.” The same voices screaming “antisemitism” over everything would cheer this exclusion. Public facilities can’t discriminate—unless it’s against non-Muslims? Disgusting. A Green Party election candidate running an account impersonating Anne Frank — the 15-year-old Jewish girl murdered by the Nazis — while posting calls to kill ‘every single Zionist,’ calling Jews ‘vermin’ and ‘rats,’ and peddling crude antisemitic stereotypes. This is vile Jew-hatred being mainstreamed. Green Party: You withdrew support ONLY after it became a public scandal. It got this far because the Green Party is a sewer of antisemitism.

May 3 – On This Day in Holocaust History 1938—The Flossenbürg concentration camp is established in Germany. Initially created to exploit forced labor in nearby stone quarries, the camp becomes part of the expanding concentration camp system, where prisoners—including Jews, political detainees, and later resistance figures—are subjected to brutal conditions, forced labor, and executions. ⸻ 1939—Soviet leader Joseph Stalin replaces Foreign Minister Maksim Litvinov with Vyacheslav Molotov. The move signals a shift in Soviet foreign policy, removing a diplomat associated with collective security and opening the way for closer relations with Nazi Germany. Within months, this leads to the Nazi-Soviet Pact (August 1939), which facilitates Germany’s invasion of Poland and the outbreak of World War II. —The ship St. Louis, carrying more than 900 Jewish refugees, is denied entry this time by Cuba, forcing it to return to Europe. The United States had turned it away days earlier. Many passengers are later caught under Nazi occupation; approximately one-quarter are ultimately murdered in the Holocaust, making the voyage a symbol of the world’s failure to provide refuge. ⸻ 1945—As Nazi Germany collapses, death marches and camp evacuations continue across Central Europe. Prisoners are forced to march under brutal conditions; many die from starvation, exposure, or execution even in the final days before Germany’s surrender.

French Jewish doctors are fleeing en masse to Israel. Hundreds at one event alone — because after years of skyrocketing antisemitism, only 22% of French Jews feel safe in their own country. “No future for Jews of France.” Europe is hemorrhaging its Jews again — and the world shrugs. When will you wake up? #Antisemitism #France #Aliyah

No wonder university students are in a full-blown anti-Israel/anti-Jewish frenzy. What do you expect when professors like this one one in the UK justify the stabbing of Jews in Golders Green — calling it ‘inevitable blowback’? It’s incitement dressed up as ‘analysis.’ These educators are poisoning young minds, normalizing violence against Jews, and turning campuses into breeding grounds for the next generation of Jew-haters. Enough. #EndAntisemitism #CampusJewHate jns.org/news/world/uk-…

I used to think there could be no worse big-city mayor for Jews than London’s Sadiq Khan. That was before Zohran Mamdani became the mayor of New York. He can’t stop inserting himself into international anti-Israel crusades, now condemning Israel for lawfully intercepting another Gaza flotilla. By always choosing sides against the Jewish state, he is by extension working against the safety and dignity of NY’s Jewish community. Enough. Jewish New Yorkers deserve a mayor who fights antisemitism at home instead of enabling it. We see you, Mayor Mamdani. We will hold you accountable. jta.org/2026/05/01/ny/… #EndAntisemitism #JewishNewYork #NoSafeSpaceForJewHate

A great idea from Conservative leader @KemiBadenoch — treat the surge in antisemitism as a national emergency and declare that extremists spreading Jew hate have NO place in Britain But what is she going to do about Gaza Labour politicians and all of the Green Party? They are pandering to Islamist extremists and hard-Left Jew-haters, spreading antisemitic filth. Paywall free 🔗: telegraph.co.uk/gift/f00639d35… #StopAntisemitism #FightJewHate #NoPlaceForJewHate

UK’s top cop just admitted what we’ve been warning about for years: British Jews are facing the GREATEST threat in their history amid a full-blown epidemic of antisemitism. Social media poison + extremists from every side targeting us in a ‘ghastly Venn diagram’ — and the failure of government officials to do anything about it has forced Jews to change their lives in fear. After the Golders Green stabbing, Met Chief Mark Rowley is begging for 300 armed officers to protect Jewish communities. PM Starmer FINALLY talking tougher on ‘globalise the intifada’ chants (which, btw, @NYCMayor Mamdani will still not repudiate) Enough is enough. Words must become action. Protect British Jews NOW. #EndAntisemitism #StandWithUKJewstimesofisrael.com/top-uk-cop-bri…

May 1 – On This Day in Holocaust History 1934—The Nazi Party expands its antisemitic propaganda apparatus. Julius Streicher’s Der Stürmer continues spreading medieval blood libel accusations against Jews, while the Racial Policy Office of the Nazi Party helps formalize racist ideology within state structures. ⸻ 1938 (May)—Following the Anschluss, this marks the start of a period in which Jews in Austria are subjected to public humiliation, forced by Nazis and civilians to scrub streets while being abused and mocked. These acts are part of early efforts to degrade and isolate Jews socially. ⸻ 1939 (May)—Hungary enacts anti-Jewish laws restricting Jews in professions to no more than 6% of employees in professions and sectors, including law, medicine, engineering, journalism, and business management. If Jews owned businesses or had a majority stake in any professional office, they were required to sell to non-Jews at fire sale prices. ——The ship St. Louis, carrying 937 Jewish refugees, is denied entry by Cuba, the United States, and others, forcing its return to Europe. More than a quarter of those passengers were ultimately killed in Nazi death camps. ⸻ 1940—Norway surrenders to Germany. At the same time, at great risk to his own life, German officer Hans Oster, tries to warn the Low Countries of Hitler’s impending Western offensive. He tells the Dutch and Belgian military attaches of the exact day and hour of the invasion. His warnings are ignored. ——Rudolf Höss is appointed commandant of Auschwitz, where he will oversee the camp’s expansion into the largest center of slave labor and mass murder. ⸻ 1941—The Natzweiler-Struthof concentration camp is established in Alsace, and Gross-Rosen becomes an independent concentration camp, expanding the Nazi camp system. ⸻ 1942—Approximately 1,000 Jews are murdered in Dvinsk (Daugavpils), Latvia, leaving only a few hundred survivors from a prewar population of around 16,000. These killings are part of the mass shootings carried out across Eastern Europe.

"It's Jewish behavior" that causes antisemitism. Like winning about 22% of all Nobel prizes since 1901 despite being less than 0.2% of the world's population? Or being forced to be money changers inside European ghettos because Catholics and Christians condemned loaning money as a sin. So when Mayer Amschel and his five sons walked out of the Frankfurt ghetto and established a fledging bank in 1810, it took them only 30 years to create the world’s biggest bank, ten times larger than their closest rival. Pope Gregory had to get a loan from the Rothschilds to keep the Vatican afloat. I could go on. Outsized contributions to medicine, technology, philanthropy. And I say all this from the perspective of someone born and raised as a Catholic.
Charlemagne@EuroAm12

Fine we can be more honest then. Its Jewish behavior.
