@EmilyJBailes Thanks Emily! The new job is going alright thanks. It involves a lot of strawberry yield data analysis essentially. How is your work going?

@AnxiousAnalyst @RichardComont @flygirlNHM Thanks Dylan! I forgot about your flies expertise! Hope the new job is going well :)

Is it a bee? No it's a fly! Awesome bumblebee mimic seen foraging on marjorum. I'm not very good on my fly ID but I think it might be Merodon equestris? @RichardComont @flygirlNHM

@sphaerularia Ragworts are among my favourite flowers: great for cinnabar moths and a large host of pollinators. It's annoying that they've got such a bad rap because of their toxicity to livestock. They desperately need some better press, I reckon.

Around this time last year, we asked the fine folks at @CerealsEvent, "What do you think about fly pollination?"
Thanks @Farmer_Tom_UK, you hit the nail on the head. (@flygirlNHM we've still got some work to do getting the word out)🗣️

Apologies for the shaky footage, we got in a flap ourselves capturing this Dark- edged bee-fly as they are usually too fast to film. This one was warming up for flight on a garden wall in Newport and despite its name and looks it's not a bee it's actually a fly!#MyWildNewport

@harrysiviter @BumblebeeTrust @SolitaryBeeWeek Lucky you! I'm doing alright thanks. Managed to submit my dissertation a couple of weeks back, so just waiting for the viva now. How's life been treating you?
