Very much enjoyed our discussion of values and cake with the @BangorSNS masters in conservation and land management students. Excellent baking and excellent presentations! @juliapgjones sorry you missed out on the cake!

Don't throw out open book exams yet. Yes issues of unfair means, but also evidence that they are more inclusive and authentic test of skills. Can we get around issues of unfair means other ways? Emma Jones @SheffieldMBB #Biosummit2021

Fantastic talk from @ElliTheobald on active learning and the benefits for minority groups on exam scores. Essentially, do as much as you can to even out differences! #Biosummit2021

It's finally out! Our Brown-Leadbeater lab collaboration. We look at whether the impact of multiple stressors (parasites/nutrition/agrochemicals) can be predicted by adding the effects together. See Harry's tweet below or read the paper @nature nature.com/articles/s4158…

Really happy to present our new paper published in @Nature . We use meta-analysis to show that interactions between agrochemicals, poor nutrition and parasites interact synergistically to increase bee mortality. Start of thread (1/13). nature.com/articles/s4158…

We are also grateful to all 5 reviewers who genuinely really helped improve our manuscript, all authors who made raw data available to us, or responded to our nagging questions and of course the funders @poshbee_eu

@sphaerularia @RHULBioSci @SheffieldMBB I should add, this doesn't mean that wildflower strips are bad for pollinators (there are lots of great studys that show they are) but maybe after some more research, we can tweak them to make them better! :)

Insects are undergoing catastrophic declines - pollinators are amongst the hardest hit. The Weeds Act 1959 drives over-tidiness of our rural landscapes. Repealing it will benefit all kinds of creatures. Sign the petition to repeal the act ➡️ wtru.st/2YCXkL5 🐞🦋🐛🐝🌱

@EmilyJBailes @WildlifeTrusts @B_Strawbridge 1959 Act was a 'Consolidation Act' saving a 1920 amendment to a 1917 Act. The legislation was to protect landowners from tenants who let land go to rack & ruin. An irrelevance since Ramsay MacDonald gov introduced farm subsidies.
