@CivicNatalist @alt1na1 Sure, two extremes exist and both serve no productive purpose. Pregnancy is a magical thing which women are blessed to be able to experience but it also sucks in many ways and avoiding discussing them candidly does everyone a disservice

@noahreeveshq I feel like the biggest problem with therapists is the pipeline of people who want to become therapists REALLY shouldnt become therapists and do literally anything else and its not usually because they’re too well settled and emotionally stable

Unpopular opinion: if my therapist hasn’t had a hard fucking life, I don’t want him. I don’t say this because I have bad intentions, but I say this because I know that wisdom is only earned through experience. I don’t want advice from a rich guy who grew up with two loving parents, a nice education and good job right out of school, never been arrested, never been addicted, etc. What can this guy possibly teach me? He can’t even begin to understand the experiences of an immigrant who moved multiple times before college, dealt with racism, struggled with identity crisis, had a foreign sounding name, etc. I want somebody who’s been through the fire and came out stronger on the other side. We can’t see a person’s mind and soul so the only way to truly know is if they had an actually hard life and watching how they handle themselves. I maybe have been a bit blunt here but that’s the truth. No vanilla ass dude with an easier life than me is going to give me advice

The discourse around UK education and early careers being too deterministic is so insane its making me consider whether i live in a different UK ? They will literally hire anyone with any degree ? How is that deterministic? You could easily study spanish and become an investment banker or study classics and become a lawyer

Met someone from my cohort at art school outside of the classroom and she confided in me she liked AI and used it…. Incredible that this is socially stigmatised with the best of future creative talent to the extent that they cant even say it out loud
