This is one of the hardest parts of working in Sustainability. Knowing what you know, being so anxious about what we're facing and then encountering daily pushback and ambivalence. It's exhausting

I really love HRV as a metric. To me it gives a real look under the hood as to my overall health (fitness, sleep, recovery, readiness to train). I dedicated an entire podcast to it a few months ago. I'll link to it below. Do you use HRV? Or what's the metric that you track?

@cianginty @Fingal_Cycling It's not accessibility. It's facilitating vehicular traffic. With left filter lanes at major junctions, it can mean 4-6 not-joined-up light sequences for peds to cross. For vehicles it's 1 sequence. Peds beg for permission to be stranded mid-crossing on islands rain or shine.

It’s catastrophic. I moved to Ireland and lived in city centre 2003. Fabulous place! Had mighty craic— and walked home (alone) to my apartment on the way home from the restaurants and pubs - often late at night. Never a problem. I would not dare walk there now. It’s gone to the dogs.

When I flew from Boston to Dublin yesterday, I had the opportunity to chat to several fellow travellers in the long check -in and security queues. I felt a sense of compassion and sorrow for those holidaymakers coming to Ireland for their ‘dream holiday.’ Americans have very little vacation time and these people were flying to Ireland for the same reasons I did over two decades ago. To see the Ireland they have heard about. The Ireland they have seen in films and adverts. To immerse themselves in Ireland’s culture and heritage. I didn’t want to rain on their parade so wished them well. I hope they’ll be safe and I also hope they’ll tell the world how it’s changed for the worse.

There endeth Olympics. For Ireland I think it has been remarkable. Amazing. To much abuse, as always, said 9-12 medal prediction was insane and arrogant. Proven right. Abuse will move on to abusing someone that will be proven correct too. As nation we need to wind in our necks.
