The biggest myth about donald trump is how EVERYONE thinks he will be a strong man for THEM. The poors think he will fight big corporations, rich people think he will give them tax breaks and drive growth, immigrants believe he will solve immigration (but leave their particular group alone), pro Ukraine thinks he will be a strongman vs putin, anti-Ukrainians think he will abandon Ukraine, etc... Guys, Donald Trump is a fucking idiot, who only cares about himself, does not pay attention to details, has the attention span of a gnat, is wildly incompetent and driven by maleovance. He will just be an agent of chaos, and whoever flatters him the most will get their way. He is not a strong man, and will not be a strongman against anyone, except for the most vulnerable of people. Just like last time

We are incapable. We haven't prepared for drones. We still, for some reason, fund the marines. We dont have enough munitions, nor do we have the $ . This would cost more than Iraq. We also have clowns running the show. And a lot of our wars now are exactly that. Costly, no real objectives that are always changing. This war is already a political disaster

Ground operation in Iran would be hell. Cheap FPV drones eliminate a lot of advantages that a developed military and well trained infantry such as American has. And it will be televised. I have been working with multiple units in Ukraine trying to minimize the impact of cheap fpv and bomber drones on the battlefield. We tried many things, from radars, shotguns, net guns, lasers, EW. Pretty much nothing works, there is no tech that can deterministically eliminate the threat. You can only minimize it, and we aren't talking about 80 percent mitigation, we are talking about 30 percent if you are lucky. Only physical barriers at the positions work effectively.

Iran today threatened the Bab al-Mandeb (10 percent of seaborne trade). Predictable and not new. Iran spent years building a missile and drone proxy force in Yemen able to threaten global commerce—and fired anti-ship missiles at US Navy vessels in ‘23 and ‘24. Hormuz & Mandeb ⬇️
