What an absolutely ELECTRIC St. Patrick's Day in Gaithersburg! The love, the joy, the enthusiasm from our incredible neighbors today was overwhelming in the best possible way. Thank you to the Urbana Muslim Association for such a beautiful Iftar dinner and for the warm welcome. There is something so special about gathering together during Ramadan. Sharing a meal, experiencing the richness of the culture and traditions, and the strong sense of community that fills the room remind us how much we share. It was also so nice to see good friends, including Senator Karen Lewis Young, and to spend the evening with neighbors coming together in friendship and reflection. Thank you!

I’m beyond horrified to learn of another antisemitic attack—this time at one of our nation’s largest Reform synagogues. My thoughts are with the Temple Israel congregation and the entire Jewish community. So thankful that no one was hurt in this attack. Antisemitism has no place in America. Everyone deserves to worship safely and without fear.

Good news: Our Team Maryland efforts to block ICE from opening a detention warehouse in Washington County have resulted in a court-ordered injunction to halt construction while the case continues in court.

This progress would not have been possible without the thousands of constituents who contacted my office to share their concerns.

I will continue fighting to ensure that inhumane detention centers like this are never opened in Maryland — or elsewhere.

I’m proud to stand with @OAGMaryland Anthony Brown in demanding answers. When I visited the Baltimore ICE facility two months ago, I saw firsthand the heartbreaking conditions detainees are facing. Marylanders deserve the truth—and everyone deserves to be treated with dignity.

This statement is cruel and dehumanizing. Muslims are human beings. They are our neighbors, coworkers, friends, and fellow Americans and no one’s humanity should ever be treated as if it’s up for debate. We should be better than language that reduces people to something less than human.

As the Pentagon burns $5.6B on munitions in two days of Trump’s war with Iran, I’m fighting to reinstate SNAP funding for hungry families.
