Poverty is expensive in a way that people don’t understand. If you can’t afford a dentist you have long term teeth damage. Not affording healthy food means poor health. Not affording ‘good schools’ means missed opportunities. It is a compounding cycle.

The company behind POM juice, a juice marketed as a superfood antioxidant-rich drink, was just named California’s 2nd-largest user of paraquat — one of the most toxic herbicides still allowed in the U.S. Over 56,000 pounds sprayed in a single year… on crops used to make this so called health drink. Paraquat has been linked to Parkinson’s disease, cancer, and neurological damage. It drifts into nearby communities and lingers in soil for years. More than 60 countries have already banned it. So why is it still being used here? Help us continue the work to get these chemicals out of our food supply. [momsacrossamerica.com/monthly_donati…]

@NoticerNews We speak English and French here. Parents who want their kids to learn other languages pay for it out of pocket. I've paid for Korean and Spanish lessons. Or you can teach them at home if it's your language.

Punch sits quietly at the edge of a small stream, listening to the gentle sound of water flowing beside him. 🍎 In his tiny hands, he holds a bright piece of apple and takes a careful bite while his plush friend rests right next to him. After chewing for a moment, he turns and lifts the apple toward the little toy… as if inviting it to share the snack too. To most people, it’s just a stuffed toy. But to Punch, it’s a friend who sits with him by the water, sharing quiet moments together.

On March 15, 1921, Soghomon Tehlirian avenged the Armenian nation by killing Talaat Pasha in Berlin. Talaat, the former Ottoman interior minister and grand vizier, had been one of the chief perpetrators and overseers of the Armenian Genocide. The assassination was part of Operation Nemesis, a covert mission organized by the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) to track down and punish the Young Turk leaders responsible for orchestrating the 1915 Armenian Genocide. After locating Talaat Pasha’s address at 4 Hardenbergstraße in Berlin’s Charlottenburg district, Tehlirian rented an apartment directly across the street in order to observe his daily movements. On the morning of March 15, 1921, Tehlirian followed Talaat as he left his residence, crossing the street twice to confirm his identity. When the two men finally came face to face, Tehlirian called out, “Hey, Talaat.” It was reportedly the first time Talaat had heard his real name spoken since arriving in Germany. Realizing the danger, Talaat attempted to flee. Tehlirian fired a single 9mm round from a Luger P08 behind his ear, killing him instantly. Tehlirian was arrested at the scene and brought to trial in Berlin. After two days of trial, he was acquitted by the German court on June 3, 1921.

March 15, 1921 On this day, a shot rang out that echoed in history. One of the main organizers and culprits, Talat Pasha, was eliminated. The man who signed orders for the deportation and death of hundreds of thousands of Armenians had been hiding in Europe for years, thinking he could evade responsibility. But the memory of the people proved to be longer. The executioner was an Armenian - Soghomon Tehlirian His shot was part of Operation Nemesis - a secret mission to find and punish the organizers of the genocide. A court in Germany acquitted Tehlirian. Sometimes history doesn't need words. Sometimes history demands justice. And sometimes a single shot becomes the voice of an entire people.

It originally was the/a day to celebrate the spring equinox. Easter is named after the Anglo-Saxon goddess name Ēostre. She was the fertility Godess, hence: bunnies & eggs. Egyptian origin would be Ishtar, this day goes down a serious rabbit hole, no pun intented. YES PAGAN ORIGINS, HAM- FAVORITE FOOD AMONGST PAGANS. Soooo..... There you have it : )
